Backyard Safari Periscope

Pretty neat - I looked through it and it was like a monocular, then I realized there was no straight path to the view. It really does manage transferring the images quite well. Yes, the view is a bit tiny but that's fine for kids (mine are 2 and 3yo). My periscope was defective though. It had what looked to be oil droplets inside (see pics). It made the image really fuzzy. I submitted for an exchange and a replacement shipped same day. Very happy with that service. Otherwise, it's light and easy for little ones to handle and they have lots of fun with it. Looking around corners is the best!

Poor quality. When it arrived the internal lens had some kind of fog or oily reside on it making it hard to see through and it couldnt be cleaned. Not to mention the view-able area is super tiny to begin with. You feel like you are looking trough a hole the size of a bic pen. Look up youtube for how to make your on DIY periscope using cardboard and two small square mirrors. It works much better than this.

This is a nice educational toy for small kids. The eye hole is fine for small eyes but it doesn't wow you looking through it because it's such a small view. The kids used it about five minutes and then got tired of it. Next time, I would buy a larger periscope with a greater extension mainly so that the viewing perspective takes in more of the surrounding.

first one didn't make it 1 day and the mirror inside dislodged and you cant open it to fix it. They sent us a new one no problem but we use it cautiously just in case it happens again. But it really does work. the kids love sneaking around the house with it

I’ve had this toy/product for over a year now and my kiddos still play with it. It holds up well and works great! My kids love it :)

The field of view is so small that this toy is rendered a novelty... even for a kid. I read the same in other reviews but figured for the price I'd give it a try. Such a lame excuse for a periscope I was embarrassed to gift it to my 5 year old nephew and returned it for a refund.

I love this periscope! I realize it is a child's toy, but I sit in a high walled cubicle and rather than calling out, I have to jump up every time I want to see if my co-workers are at their desks. I like that it is expandable and well constructed. My co-workers think it is fun and everyone had to try it out!

Arrived within days of order and looked good. Also had a robust feeling about it, extended and appeared good for play: hiding behind settee and things while spying. However, unable to see anything through it, permanently out of focus although does not magnify – did not expect it to for £5.99. Thought there must be some sort of protective covering on the plastic lenses but no. Impossible to see through, just a massive disorientating blur. First ever poor feedback.

Brought this for my kids. You can't really see that far and when you extend it, you have to hold it in place. My kids didn't really play with it for that long.

These arrived so quickly! They are sturdy and perfect for a classroom science lesson. The children thought they were attractive to look at, and easy to hold and use.

Material de plástico, el periscopio es muy pequeño y sobre todo la mira, donde se pone el ojo, el campo de visión es super pequeño, que no se aprecia si trae espejo o un papel metalico, por lo que no se aprecia realmente lo que se mira del otro lado, los niños lo desechan muy rápido al no poder apreciar su función real.

The previous reviewer was correct, this is the perfect cubicle periscope. The only thing that would have made it better would be if it had magnification properties. However even without you can easily harass your cubicle neighbours.
