One of 3 best quality brands in my opinion & that of my painting professor
I've taken a lot of art classes & will continue to use acrylic paint of this & the other 2 excellent brands. Not sure if I'm "allowed" to say the other brands' names. Sheerness is not a quality one seeks in Payne's gray so it was fine. For newbies, Payne's gray is a very cool color because it ranges from darkish gray to nearly white when mixed with white paint. Medium amounts of white added make a variety of lovely blue shades - go figure! In some instances it is good for shading, even though the "rule" is to use the compliment of the color you're using for shading (for example, if main color is red, you'd mix red with its compliment green). If you're painting something white, it is perfect for shading. The tubes are made of lead & crinkle easily which wastes paint & makes it hard to squeeze. I've ordered a lot of paint from Amazon & 2 did arrive with 1, a huge dent, & 2, a smallish indentation. I suggest carefully squeezing from the bottom up (reminds me of the claim that 1 of the most fought over issues in cohabitors is how to squeeze). I sometimes fold up the used part & attach a small binder clip to it. In plastic tubes I literally cut it in 3 places when it seems empty but you wouldn't believe how much paint is actually left! I don't know if that's applicable with these as I've never tried it with a lead tube. Have fun!

PRO grade is worth - great coverage, super opaque
I wasn't sure if it's worth investing in PRO grade white color, but I've already repurchased this product twice. Reason is it is super opaque, so a tiny bit goes a long way, and it can always be diluted.I was shocked how small the biggest container is, but now I know why. It is very thick, so I often have to dilute it for better spreadability. I usually need to build white solid background and found out it is much easier to use two thin layers than trying to get the coverage from X layers. With this paint I get the desired opaque level much quicker. And in comparison with lower grade white paint it doesn't form that plastic sheet when dried, so it has much nicer texture. No peeling, no strong acrylic paint smell, great coverage, I am in love, give me more.

Love this brand for a long time
This is a great high quality heavy bodied paint with luxurious color. I bought it to add to my latest nautical painting.

Beautiful golden glaze
I had had Quin Gold in my watercolor pallet and missed its beauty and shine when I went to acrylics. There is some issue with availability of the original pigment so they threw in Nickel AZO for acrylics - This W&N version acrylic works beautiful as a thin glaze and mixes very well. This is my frist W&N pigment - usually use Golden Heavy - they work well together.

Very large tube
I love the colors for flesh tones. I mixed a bit of red, blue and yellow to get a flesh tone. I also easily mixed this with water to thin out. While this is NOT a watercolor I used it with watercolors to make a mixed media painting

Good but not great paint
I bought this paint as a comparison between Winsor & Newton and Liquitex professional and student paints. In order to compare I did a simple gradient test to find the truest and birghtest color when mixed with white. I find it important to note that the professional Winsor and Newton uses the same pigments as the Liqutex student paint. I found that Winsor and Liquitex professional pains have the same degree of pigment saturation. However Liquitex professional had the brightest color when mixed with white. Liquitex student paint was only slightly duller than the professional and a closer comparison to Winsor professional. The Winsor student paint was not phthalo blue as I expected and had a very strong green shade. By all standards Liquitex professional was the best pain by being true to the expected color, having a high degree of pigment saturation, and remaining bright after being mixed with white. Winsor professional and Liquitex student tie for second though price would put Liquitex ahead. Winsor professional had a higher saturation but was not as bright when mixed with white and compared to Liquitex student. Winsor student pain comes in dead last by an long shot. The paint is the completely wrong color though its pigmentation states that it should be the same as Liquitex professional. The degree of saturation is far less that any of the other paints and it is greatly dulled by the white paint. Final rankings: 1. Liquitex professional 2. Liquitex student 3. Winsor & Newton professional 4. great dissapointment 5. Winsor & Newton Student I will be buying Liquitex paints for my art.
