Aroma Housewares ARC-1000 Professional Series 20-Cup (Cooked) Sensor Logic Rice Cooker

This a a really great rice cooker. So far I've only cooked rice in it, but there is more you can do.I haven't had the chance yet to use any of the other features yet but I have steamed vegetables and potatoes in my previous rice cooker. This rice cooker has a nice, large, deep pot. The buttons and display are nice and large. It comes with a rice spoon, scooping cup and steaming basket.The Only drawback is the way the notch was made in the rice spoon, it does not slide down into the spoon holder. It sticks up really high, above the top of the rice cooker. Other than that, I LOVE THIS RICE COOKER. I would recommend it to anyone.

I spent hours researching rice cookers before deciding to buy this one. As a recent convert to healthy eating and cooking, this machine was just what I needed. It had to be simple - I am not a cook and once caught my kitchen on fire trying to make garlic bread! It had to make great rice on it's own, cause my first stovetop attempts to make rice looked more like cement than rice. It also had to make large amounts of rice at a time because I am pre-packaging lunches for my husband so he can eat healthy while at work. This machine delivers on all counts. It is foolproof - follow the directions and you get perfect rice every time - it's that simple! I love the delay timer function - I can setup everything for dinner and it is ready to eat when I come home from the gym at night. The keep warm function is great - cause it doesn't matter if I'm a few minutes late getting home. And yes, like some people have stated in previous reviews, it will turn brown on the bottom if you leave it on keep warm for too long - but I kinda like it when it does that - it just adds a little color to the rice - it doesn't burn it. Heck, I make mostly brown rice anyway! This also steams perfectly and the unit is super easy to clean. And the removable non-stick inner pot is great - I just pull it out when the rice is done, add a bag of veggies and some chicken or fish, mix it up in the same pot, and dinner is served! I LOVE this rice cooker and I would give it 10 stars if I could. Like the dehydrator and bread machine I also have from Aroma, this cooker does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it well.

I did a lot of research online before choosing this rice cooker. It received the highest ratings in blog reviews when people were testing it out against other brands. I love brown rice but never have the time to cook it,being a full time student and also working a full time job. This fixed that problem. Yes, if you use the delay setting the rice will brown a little on the bottom but it is never overcooked. Also, in some cultures, the browned rice on the bottom is desirable and actually quite tasty! But you could play around with the water function. Do remember it takes about an hour or more of soaking the brown rice, so if you are using the delay figure in the extra time. I always figure two hours less on the delay so the rice is actually done when I come back home.I have done every imaginable type of rice in here. The only types that dont do well are minute rice and Uncle Bens brown rice, which is an inferior rice anyway. It turns into what looks like oatmeal.I have also cooked lentils in here on the white rice function. I had to add extra water as the first time they came out like paste!One final thing, that just makes this the absolute best for me, is that it cleans up easy and fast, even if the rice browns on the bottom it comes right out and washing it you need nothing more than a sponge, no scrubbing!

I bought this one because of the timer function and am completely satisfied! I have cooked white and brown rice with no problems. I set it up the night before and have the best oatmeal now too. I highly recommend this one! UPDATE! 2/17/2014 I've used this rice cooker almost daily since 2011 and it has functioned flawlessly. I'm so happy with this one, that I've given them as gifts numerous times. I applaud Aroma for their product and Amazon for selling it.

I bought this as a steamer more than a rice cooker. It is probably wonderful for rice but I had to experiment to use it as a steamer and crockpot. It is light and has a convenient carrying handle and an area to catch moisture that drips when the lid is opened.

I really like the delay timer feature. It would be nice to have a little more resolution (be able to delay 3.5 hrs instead of just 3 or 4 hrs), but since the cooker will keep the rice warm after it is done cooking, this doesn't make much of a difference. I haven't used the "quick cook" function yet, but so far I thoroughly enjoy everything about the white rice/brown rice functions! I always had trouble getting brown rice done just right, but now I don't have to worry about it at all. Furthermore, the cooker comes with a fun little book of recipies for other non-rice dishes to cook with it (including a delicious chocolate cake!)

Brown rice never tasted so good until I started using the Aroma Professional Rice Cooker. It comes out perfect everytime.

Once I learned how to use it, my brown rice has been cooked perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase.
