Philips Norelco Multigroom Series 7100, 8 attachments, QG3390

Used for 4 years so far, mainly for body grooming. Works well even on longish groin hair. Still holds a charge and no problems using. The foil shaver head finally failed recently and I found that the Philips Norelco BG2000 foil replacement does fit the removable plastic foil holder once you figure out how to remove and replace the foil cutter insert in the plastic adapter/holder. Philips answer here says they are not compatible but the manual I received with my Multigroom 7100 QG3390 says they are compatible and I have verified this. The metal foil developing a hole in it was the failure mode.

I haven't had it that long, and there are many attachments so it's hard to give any kind of comprehensive review. The power source and its ability to shave everything on your body from head to toe does make it very versitile. It charges very quickly and lasts a good length of time. At least so far, it is better than the Remington I reviewed two years ago, whose power source was disappointing and which did not do all the things the Norelco does, which is basically everything you can think of. Also, I have yet to try it (unplugged) in the shower so don't know what to say, other than I'll probably never take it near water. But the option is there. They have very loing instructions in many languages, which makes understanding its uses much easier, that's for sure. I do know never to submerge it -- they make that very clear -- and to keep it in a certain temperature range. I was pleased to see such detailed instructions. The only delicate part is the foil shaver, which I have yet to try.

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this device. I had been in the market for something a little better than what I had on the beard trimmer market for quite some time. Essentially all I wanted it for was for the main razor head, the precision detailer, and the beard comb. The price point was such a minor difference that I went ahead and went with this one that had all the fancy attachments and I am sure glad I did. I have used everything except the nose hair trimmer up to this point and am very impressed.MOTORThe motor is a little quieter than my previous trimmer. I haven't noticed any lack of power when trying to cut hair so I'm assuming it is just a quieter design rather than a less powerful motor. You can also really hear the difference in the motor between heads, with the motor moving much faster/louder on the precision detailer than the main comb, etc. It only makes sense, but it would give me more confidence if the motor were powerful enough that you couldn't hear it struggling to move the largest attachment.MAIN TRIMMERThe main trimmer is very functional. Most of the time when I am using this it is combined with the beard trimmer guide comb. Setting the beard trimmer comb to the desired length can be very difficult. Once you apply enough pressure to move it instead of moving one step you are liable to move it 3 or 4. It takes some wiggling back and forth to get it set where you want it. One other negative thing is there is some wiggle in the guide comb when you apply pressure and depending which angle I'm trimming sometimes my finger is on the guard holding it in place and sometimes it isn't. This could lead to some minor unevenness, I just am careful to either keep my finger on or off the trimmer comb the entire time. This wobbliness is a little worrying but in practice I've never noticed any issues arise from it.PRECISION DETAILERThis is essentially just like the main trimmer only much thinner to give you more control. I use this without a guard to shape the lines around the edges of my beard and the back of my neck. There really isn't anything special about it you just cut less of your beard at a time and have a little greater control over the shape. One other good thing about the detailer is that it is thin enough to kind of trim the wiry little hairs on either side of the 'soul patch' area under my lip without hitting the lines between the beard and mustache outside the lips.DOUBLE FOIL BODY SHAVERThis is the thing more than any other that I was very pleasantly surprised with. When I originally ordered this I figured it would never get used as I'm a little shy about what I use for manscaping. Mistakes could be very... erm... costly. It said it was a body trimmer though so I decided to give it a quick shot. Wow am I glad I did. The way it is designed is it has trimmer (kind of like mini clipper blades) blades on either side of the double foil shaver so no matter which direction you need to go or how you are holding it you can move it any direction and it will trim then shave the area. It sometimes takes a few passes from different angles, but the way it is designed this usually just means running it back and forth rather than contorting to odd angles like you do a razor. This thing is a dream come true for sensitive areas with lots of contours and things of that nature *cough*. I have never experienced discomfort from using this thing. I absolutely love it.STUBBLE COMBI have tried to use this on a few occasions, but to me the design of it just doesn't work very well. The open back of the trimmer has me in constant fear that if I angle it just wrong I'm going to shave my beard clean off. Usually when using the stubble comb on a comparable setting to the beard comb it seems like it all but makes my beard dissappear. I might not know how to use it or something but I hardly ever use this. In situations where I'm trying to leave a little stubble I generally use the beard comb on a low setting.HAIR COMBI have used this on a couple of occasions when I cut my hair. I use it to thin out the hair so that my hair starts out at the same length as my beard and kind of fades and gets longer on the top. This comb suffers from the same wobbliness as the beard trimmer comb which just makes me nervous more than anything. Everything still looked really good when I got done.BODY TRIMMER COMBI only really use this in a very limited function for a patch on my arms where the hair likes to grow way longer than anywhere else. It looks very similar to the beard trimmer comb and it works. I'm not so sure you couldn't just use one of the other guides for the same function this brings, but it is there so I use it. Not sure it adds a ton of value to the kit, but it surely doesn't hurt anything either.CONCLUSIONAll in all it does everything expected of it, the double foil shaver ended up being a very pleasant surprise. The design falls a bit short for me in a couple of areas though mainly with the difficulty of adjustments and the wobbliness on the guides. 4 out of 5 stars.All in all I feel like this was very very close to being a perfect product but it just missed on a couple of key points with the difficulty adjusting the guide combs tot he correct length and the slight wiggle in the combs. It met all my expectations and the double foil shaver was a pleasant surprise that makes my life easier.

Day 1: Used this groomer for the first time yesterday and it is fantastic! I charged it for about an hour and started shaving. In less than 3 minutes, I was done. It powers through tough facial hair without issues and the snap-on comb makes it glide over my face without any snags or discomfort.The one thing I will say that didn't sit too well with me was the 'feel' of the construction. For a groomer as expensive as this one, I'd expect the construction and materials to be a little better. It felt a little cheap and plasticy to me...those 'brushed steel' sides (at least on my groomer) are nothing more than cheap plastic made to look like metal. In fact, I think that besides the cutting head the entire thing is made of this kind of cheap-o plastic.But overall, I can't complain. The construction is cheap but the motor and cutting heads totally make up for that in the speed and power that they deliver. I'd recommend this to any friends of mine!

Bought the Bodygroom 7100 at the same time I purchased a Multigroom Series 7100, and despite looking like the same attachments, the Multigroom shaves much smoother, and comes with more attachments for grooming. While the Bodygroom has a nice stand for charging, I find that the Multigroom is more ergonomic, comes with more attachments, shaves smoother (hairless without any stub), offers multiple speed options, and was less expensive. The Bodygroom was nothing more than OK, and I could not get a smooth chest after dozens of passes. The Multigroom is fast, silky smooth, great beard trimmer, and can pack down for travel smaller than the Bodygroom due to the Bodygrooms charging station. Buy the Multigroom 7100. Best shaver on the market.

Great product! Has alot of different pieces to suit different needs. Can easily use in shower or wash the whole thing and wont cause any damage. The battery life is decent depending on how often youll use it. However, while the bodygroom shaver (the thing with the foil) is really handy, there are blades on the edges thats used to first trim extra long hair before the foil reaches it, which is practical, but can make shaving "down below" a very delicate and nervous process if this is what you were obtaining this for. The blades on the edges do have a small guard, but can still give you a nick or two if your not careful. Otherwise, this product is a great quality and can be your moneys worth if you manage to take care of it

Couldn't have found something better! I have tried out all kinds of different trimmer systems for my thick beard and none of them could handle it but rather scared my skin. This one worked magically! Great selection of trimmer guards and blades, really good quality. Holds up it's charge really well and quickly recharges. Even comes with a little bag for easy travel! Simply the best!

Came in a broken box and did not work. I am owed £252 this was 3 months ago.

I had to wait forever for this imported item - one of the turn-offs of global store. Add on to that the customs duty, shipping and other charges which almost made it twice as expensive. Now for the good part: - Extremely high quality. I've had many trimmers and shavers in the past, including an imported Remington. This one beats them all by a significant margin. - Plenty of add ons to carefully groom your beard. You wouldn't want anything else, even if you're going for zero points. - Battery lasts quite a few days, and is fast charging. No need to worry about getting adapters, since most Indian plug points already support this. Besides, you can charge it anywhere and use it wirelessly. - The pouch is handy and I wonder what would have happened without it, with hundreds of tiny parts floating around the travel bags. - Nose trimmer has no pull, however, you'll still need a precision scissors to get rid of the remaining hair, seen or unseen. - Easy to change heads and is fool proof. Again, these are top quality and looks like they would last a lifetime. - Easy to wash, all parts being waterproof. - The best part - there's a turbo mode which would seem like an excess, but is a life saver when you're rushing for a meeting or a flight.

Anything that does three things for one is suspicious. Firstly it is a good quality product well made. I have a light Beard ( I can almost shave every other day ) and wanted to get back to a foil shaver. I find this gives me a nice close shave. I have a small mustache ( just a little dirt under the nose ) it has a good groomer and the length is very easily adjusted. From very close and on up. I have thin light hair and the hair cutters did a fine job of it. For my needs this shaver groomer combo work's well for me. I'm glad I bought it and I think it will last and give good service.
