Ballistic SG1236-A065 Shell Gel for Sony Xperia Z1 - Retail Packaging - Black/Black

I purchased a Ballistic case for an old phone; I loved it and knew for my new phone that I would get another one. As for the primary function of the case it gets a 10/10: very pleased with it. Yes its a bulky case, but its a sacrifice that I am totally willing to make to protect the phone. In regards to the design of the case I am going to give it a 5/10: very discouraging due to the facts that 1. the AC adapter port is completely blocked and 2. the headphone jack is also completely blocked; both result in removal of the case to either charge the phone at night or to listen to music while at the gym. When I realized those things I let out a huge boo! And if I knew these things going into the purchase, I most likely would of choose another protective case brand.

I bought this case for its protection, and it really does it well. At least mine has a good fit (if there're people complaining about theirs, I think the Q.C may be lacking), and you can really feel a better grip, but i think it could have a solid frame on the whole case, as it's top and bottom are really soft and fragile (only the "GEL" thing)...it streches while I remove it from my pockets and gives a really fragile feeling when I remove the case for my z1 to dry...aaaand it's a bit too bulky...I would recommend this case for people who really needs to protect their phone, and doesn't really care for it's durability and size

Even though the Xperia Z1 comes with the tempered glass that supposedly is less likely to shatter than that of other phones, I've seen that the internals of the phone aren't completely shock proof (check YouTube..) I'm scared to even try putting the phone under water (even though it should be alright) so protecting it from bad falls is a priority.The phone fits inside this perfectly and I have no worries of it falling out.The extra hardback cover is a great addition and gives much more peace of mind that the phone will be protected from nasty falls.I'm sure you could use the case without the hardback part if you really wanted to.Also - note that the power switch and volume controls are protected by the soft material too.

My clumsy ass has dropped phones a lot. With the previous case, even minor drops on carpet have majorly messed up my Xperia (overly fragile weak build. I miss my Nokia roach tough phones.). This has protected it from worse drops on to harder surfaces.Biggest con is that it adds a lot of bulk to the phone, but that's not surprising with a higher level of protection.

I've only dropped my phone once but the Ballistic Shell definetly keep my phone from being damaged. Those rubber corners are great. I can still plug in for power and to transfer music. It does make an already big phone bigger though.

I have the xperia Z1S from tmobile and things got changed around for it. I still like and will continue to use it. But Z1 and Z1S are different.

Z1s is the latest Z1 out. While this does fit the phone, the speaker jack is covered up, and you have to remove the cover to charge it.You can get the SD card out, but why would you?

Overall it's a good solid case but in order to charge your phone you have to remove the case buy at own risk if you have the z1s your headphone jack doesn't line up either

The best case for this phone in my opinion. I wanted a case that didn't add a lot of bulk but protected my phone well. This is a great case that is very good at protecting my phone I have only dropped it one time from a chest height it landed face first, but it was perfectly fine!! My only complaint is that it doesn't have a magnetic charging port exposed therefore I have to remove the case every night but I don't mind I'd rather pull a case off every night then have my phone dropped and not working anymore. Sop i'm very happy. :)

Provides great protection to my phone. It does make your phone a bit bulky and heavy but it is worth it. My phone has fallen a couple of times already and not a scratch or malfunction yet. You have access to all buttons and most ports. You will have to remove casing to access sd card and sim card compartments. I do not see any problem in that as it is easy to remove and put on anyway.

The case is well made and very protective but unfortunately the magnetic charging piont is totally covered. So it is not suitible for my purpose. I have returned the item for a refund.

I bought this with some good expectations but was sadly disappointed. Just my opinion im sure others love this case. I disliked the rubber surround as it did not slide easy into compartments like jacket/suit pockets and it seemed to attract dust around the edges. It just didn't feel right so I ordered the cheap gel cases that most people have and I am over the moon now....
