Review for Slice 10400 Box Cutter with Ceramic Blade
As someone who frequently deals with packages and cardboard boxes, I recently decided to try out the Slice 10400 Box Cutter, and I must say, it has become an indispensable tool in my daily routine. The first feature that caught my attention is the 3-position manual button, which allows me to easily adjust the blade depth according to my needs. This versatility comes in handy when I have different types of materials to cut, as I can switch between shallow and deep cuts with a simple press of the button. The three-position design ensures safety, as I can retract the blade completely when not in use.Speaking of safety, the ceramic blade is a game-changer in box cutters. Unlike traditional metal blades, the ceramic blade is much safer to use, as it stays sharp for an extended period and doesn't rust or corrode. I no longer worry about accidentally cutting myself or damaging the contents of the package. Additionally, the blade is replaceable, making it an eco-friendly option compared to disposable plastic box cutters. The locking blade mechanism is another valuable feature of this Slice 10400 cutter. Once I set the blade to the desired position, I can lock it securely in place, ensuring consistent and accurate cuts without any blade wobbling. The locking mechanism adds to the overall stability and ease of use, making my cutting tasks efficient and precise. In terms of performance, the Slice 10400 Box Cutter impresses me every time. The ceramic blade effortlessly glides through cardboard, tape, and even plastic without leaving jagged edges. I appreciate how sharp the blade remains even after prolonged use, providing consistent cutting power without the need for frequent replacements. As for value for money, investing in the Slice 10400 Box Cutter is a wise decision. Its durability, safety features, and longevity make it a cost-effective choice compared to traditional box cutters that require constant blade changes and pose a higher risk of accidents. In conclusion, the Slice 10400 Box Cutter with Ceramic Blade is a top-notch tool for anyone dealing with packaging and box cutting regularly. Its safety features, adjustable blade depth, and outstanding cutting performance set it apart from conventional box cutters. Whether you're a professional or just handling packages at home, the Slice 10400 is a must-have addition to your toolkit.

Very safe box cutter
I bought this box cutter because it was advertised as safer than your regular box cutter. Historically, I have often cut myself with standard box cutters. I have found this one very easy to use and I have not cut myself once. It even has a great design, which is much more usable than your standard one. I think I recall that when I bought it, the detailed description said that the blade (ceramic?) lasts much longer than the usual metal blades. I have actually purchased 2 of these because I keep them in different places in the apartment, and neither of the blades has gotten dull. Great product!

Super Effective with Peace of Mind
Look, is this AS sharp and AS good as a cutter with a traditional blade? No. However, if you really are just using it to open boxes mostly, you don’t need something insanely sharp. And if you have kids around, it can make you anxious about the idea of them finding where you keep the box cutter.I was hopeful that this would be good, while trying to keep my expectations low, since it didn’t have a sharp blade. However, to my surprise, it not only cuts just as effectively, but also with almost no extra effort than a traditional box cutter. Any time I have needed to use this, it worked exactly how I needed it to. Furthermore, the ergonomic design actually does make it easier on the hand to cut when you have to break down a ton of boxes. And you really do need to apply a good amount of pressure to break skin with this blade. I recommend this over any alternative by far.

Good cutter, good concept, but it's a little awkward in the real world
The blade on this is the pretty standard Slice ceramic blade. A little more expensive than steel razor or carpet cutter blades, but they're pretty durable if you don't twist them. They say this device has a 3-position blade, and I'm assuming that's fully open, half open, and closed. The half open (blade halfway out of the shaft) is probably useful for letter opening or maybe for cutting tape on delicate postal packages. I never use it. I always have it either closed or fully open. The device cuts as well as the blade does. The blade that came with it works fine for opening the boxes we get on containers from China, and for cutting open shrink wrap on pallets. The only reason why I didn't give this thing a fully 5-star rating is because it's kind of big. That hook on the butt of it serves a purpose, and you can definitely just push the thing down against a pallet or a box and be able to cut the tape or wrap from it, but it's pretty big in your pocket, and you really have to hold it just the right way to get it to cut well. When you have to cut a pallet wrap that is not directly against the side of a box, it takes several more swipes to get done than with a normal box knife.Maybe if the blade extended a little further, this wouldn't be an issue, but on the model that I have, I mostly just use it as a box opener, not for cutting open pallets, and having to use two tools doesn't help my productivity all that much.Good design and idea, maybe needs a little more finessing.
