Work great
I buy install these all the time, just dont install them on the face of the day dish like the picture shows, it is meant to go on the back. Thermostatically comes on at a preset temperature and goes off when not needed, you can leave It plugged in all year long.

No more need to brush snow away
I love not having to brush snow off the dish. I plug it in when snow is forecast and it reliably melts the snow as it falls.I installed the heater myself following the excellent instructions included. Removed two bolts, no need to disconnect the DirecTV cable. Warmed the dish to room temperature inside the house, installed the heater on the back side of the dish, and remounted the dish. Routed the long power cable down to the first floor and through the wall, then plugged the cable into the heater. Easy! There was no need to reaim the dish.

Not fused !!!
Caution, add a in line fuse, (10A) Or you'll be shopping for a new power supply too, accidently cut the wires while trimming a rose bush, created a dead short and killed the power supply. Very odd that It would not have a fuse in it. And it is 26v DC not AC. @5.75A

Apply to back, not front of dish
Works great as I've had it for 30 days in snow and sub-zero temps. No lost signals. Be sure to apply heating blanket to back of dish not the front. Will distort signal if applied to front as shown.

Dish Heater
This keeps the snow off with no effort at all. It was easy to install. I only turn it on in the winter time.

Will not fit a 25" X 20" dish
Based on a previously answered question I purchased this heater believing that it would fit on a DISH network 25" X 20" satellite dish reflector.I was disappointed to find out after a 10 day delivery time that this model is too big. The correct Hot Shot heater model needed for a 25' X 20" dish is the round one for 18-22 in. Dishes made by Hot Shot.
