Start-X Remote Starter Kit for Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT (2018-2025)

First off, it is not very hard to install if you have worked on Jeeps before and have removed some dash parts. I ended up having to reprogram it like 5 times because I couldnt get it to work. I found that it needed to do a drive cycle where I started the Jeep, drove it and then shut it off, it was acting like the canbus system had to re-sync... I had a similar issue with a auto start stop eliminator, so it could be just an issue with my Jeep. I press the lock button 3x times and if you dont do it just right, it wont auto start. I think I will upgrade to the long range kit with a dedicated remote because I want to make sure it will start and not second guess if I had the 3x lock sequence right. (I am going to revise my review and make it a 5 star.. The reason is I think the issues I was having earlier was with my Jeep, I think the Canbus system had to adapt to the remote start being plugged in. After a few days it started working great. So far it has worked perfectly for the last month with no issues. If you install this and it doesnt work right out of the box and you set it up exactly as the instructions describe, give it some time. These newer Jeeps almost act like they have to re-learn if something new is introduced. This is a great product and it does work great... eventually. I would buy it again)

This is perfect and saved me tons of money. Installed it with no issues other than I had to read it about 100 times to make sure it was really that easy. Remote start is such a nice convenience to have and glad I was able to get it done on my own for way less than what I would’ve paid at the dealership.

Easy install great addition to any vehicle

HOLY %$*& this was SOOOOO freakin easy to install and set up. I think the hardest part was reflashing the module and that was SUPER easy if you just follow the video tutorial! I STRONGLY SUGGEST THIS I was facing a 500 dollar install and instead chose to attempt this. What a cost savings to ME!

Overall it works and install is easy. Beware the instructions are not accurate for all years. The 2024 wranglers have a total of 7 screws that need removed to remove the trim. I also found that once it was completely installed the functions do not operate as described. It states that you can shut the jeep off by clicking unlock 3 times after running but that is not true in my case. Also it says the engine will shut down 45 seconds after opening a door and that is not true either. I dont believe it will be an issue for me but the inconsistencies are why I gave it 4 stars.

Very happy with this purchase. I chose the start-x remote starter for my 2025 Jeep Gladiator after watching install videos for several "plug and play" starters. I was surprised to find that many of them still required tapping into part of the factory harness. This one is a true plug and play. No words to cut or tap. The harness is simple to feed through the dash. The connections are secure. You dog have to par the unit to your vehicle then remove it and connect it to a computer to flash it with the firmware for your vehicle. The process was simple enough. Then reinstall into the vehicle and test it out. It worked first try. The best part was the value. Some of the competing units exceeded $300.

I’ve only had this installed for about a day, so the review may be premature but so far so good. I had this installed on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe. I know they say you can install it yourself, but after watching some videos about how to remove the different pieces of the dashboard, I decided it would be best to let a pro do it. I took it to a local car audio shop and he said he installs these specific Start-X products all the time, no big deal. He had it done in under an hour. Important: It comes pre-programmed for a 2020 all gas JL Wrangler so it didn’t work on my vehicle at first. He had to flash it to reprogram it for the 4Xe (Plug in Hybrid) model. Once he did that, it was all good. When I first got in my vehicle after install, it had done something to my infotainment system. The climate screen was not functioning correctly and you could only change climate with the physical buttons, but the screen was showing as if you weren’t changing anything. It was a weird glitch. I went in to the infotainment system settings and did a factory reset and that fixed it. Everything went back to functioning as normal and the remote starter still functioned properly. Not sure if it was the starter component that caused the glitch or it was something the installer did, but either way, the factory reset fixed it so all good. Pretty simple use… Click the lock button on your factory key fob three times, the vehicle starts. It will run for 15 minutes, or you can click the lock button again three times and it will shut off. One thing that is different from other remote starts is that you have to press and release the brake, and then press the brake again to shift in to gear. If you simply press on the brake and try and shift right away, the vehicle will shut off.

Can confirm will work on the 2026 Jeep Gladiator. Easy to install. Great purchase!

PCも使いましたが、説明書どおりに進めると簡単に設定できました。 ロックボタン押下✕3回で無事にエンジン始動した時に買って良かったと思いました。 ただ、インナーのパネルを外す際は硬いので注意が必要です。 また、説明書は全て英語なので、Googleレンズの翻訳を使ってスクリーンショットで保存し、それを見ながら接続しました。 キーレスが届く範囲でしか始動できないので、冬場以外は使わないのかなぁと思いますが、簡単に接続できたので良い買い物だと思いました。

I hesitate to to buy it, but I was wrong, great work fine with car key fob and easy to install.

Works perfect on my 24 Jeep 4xe. Install was straight forward. Just need to flash unit to the 4xe before installing.
