very entertaining but very silly
first off , let me say I have been enjoying these no end - but i'm obviously viewing them in a different light as the basic premise of letting a 9 year old go off into life threatening situations is just a bit silly , they do tend to try and do that without any adult help !- get over that and the fact his dad loads all of his memories into his son must be rather embarrassing for his mother ! with age I must be over thinking it ! . the episode are far shorter than I remember . The DVD's are excellent quality , sound is good , love the 1960's flying cars and generally when I stop overthinking it , I'm really enjoying them

Really well written show
As a kid growing up I was captain Scarlett then later huge Thunderbirds fan. After recently reading a book on Mike trimm who worked for Gerry Anderson I decided to revisit Joe and what an excellent show it is like all Gerry Anderson stuff it defies it's age. The episodes are well written and intelligent ,the special effects brilliant and the music by the late great Barry gray incredible considering this was a weekly kids TV show. Gerry along with his wife Sylvia assembled an team of very talented people and made magic and that's why we still watch their show's over fifty years later a must see for Anderson fans

WIN's Most Special Agent
This is fantastic. The quality of picture and sound is outstandingly crystal clear. It's hard to believe that the original recordings were made in 1968/1969.As for the stories, once you get past adults conducting neurological experiments on a child, it"s a hoot. Each episode Joe risks his life to save the day with an array of gadgets, gizmos and (beautifully made) futuristic vehicles. Occasionally, Joe does kill a few (bad) people, but everyone's laughing by the end of the episode.Thoroughly recommended, particularly if you have even the faintest nostalgia of watching some episodes during the 1970's and 1980's.

JOE 90 overdue appreciation.
One of Gerry Andersons less succesfull shows but in all fairness one of the best made with to scale puppets and suprisingly grim story lines. It may have taken 50 years but now I am a fan.
