Kodak PRO 1400 Photo Printer

Q: what type of paper and ink comes with this or what type of paper and ink to buy?

This is a dye sublimation printer, sadly no longer made. A Dye Sub printer is used only to print photos of Archival quality just like you would get from a photo shop. The ink and paper come in a self contained kit. Each color, red yellow blue and black are on a thin clear roll and heated to bond one pass at a time to the paper, With the last pass being a clear layer to protect the photo. I have no idea if the kits are made any longer, and would be careful getting used kits, or a used printer as old at a 1400 must be. Sadly my printer was lost in the 2007 California wild fires. I find that some new ink jet printers are almost as good and with the new inks will hold their colors better than ink jets did when I first got the Kodak 1400. Though I must say pictures that I printed some 10 years ago with it still look like they were printed yesterday. There are other Dye sub printers out there but mostly just for smaller prints 4x6. The Canon Selphy is one I have seen and heard is very good, and not very expensive. To get a dye sub printer as good as the 1400 would cost $800 or maybe more. I just use a good ink jet now, an Epson stylus 1400 that will print large pictures. Epson Canon and HP make some very good printers. Good luck. lol I miss that darn monster printer.

Q: Does this printer work with Windows 10 ?

From the User Manual: The printer driver supports MAC OS X, WINDOWS 2000,and WINDOWS XP Operating Systems. I hope this helps.

Q: Were can you buy Kodak Professional Ektatherm 1400 Printer Kits?

Don't buy it. Unreliable. Wait for the new Fugi later this year
