Amazing drive! Will stick with this brand from now on.
HARDWARE DESIGN: 5/5 starsI've been looking for a drive that has a design like this. Perfectly crafted. One sturdy piece with all metal surface. It feels very good when hold in hand as well as look very stylish and luxury as part of my key chain. Look even cooler if worn as a necklace! When plugged into a USB port, it does require a little (just a little) more force to push it into the port than a regular drive. At first I though this is a design flaw, but after using it for awhile, I realize that sturdiness is part of this little flaw. The drive is snugly fit into the port, leaving about half of its body out. And because it has a uni-body design, one cannot accidentally break it with natural hand movement while the drive is plugged on the side of a laptop. It feels like the drive is part of a laptop itself!SOFTWARE/USABILITY: 4.5/5 stars1) I bought the 16GB version because I often transfer movies from my desktop to watch it on my laptop (more comfortable that way). Some .mkv movie files sometimes can be as large as 4.5 to even 8GB per movie. When I try to copy-n'-paste it to the drive, I receive an error message "The file is too large to transfer..." even though my drive is empty and the movie is only 4.7GB. If you have the same issue here is how you fix this:Go to My Computer->Right Click on Kingston drive -> Format -> Change from FAT32 to NTFS -> Choose your file allocation size (i picked the highest 16k) -> Check box "Quick format" -> OKReason is because the default FAT32 format has a limit of 4GB per file. By reformatting it to NTFS (short for New Technology File System), the limit is now virtually unlimited per file.2) HEAT!!! When watching a movie directly off the drive, I notice a steady increase in temperature as soon as the movie start. After about 2 minutes into the movie, the temperature of the drive when touching it can be about 45~50 degree Celcius. And because i like to torture it see how long it can last, I watched the entire 100 minutes movie. Repeat the next night with another movie, then 1 more night. 3 nights total, with 3 different movies directly off the drive and it still working fine! I dont know if this gonna have any long term effect on the drive or not, but it sure passed my first impression test!I took off half a star total because of the heat problem and Kingston could've manufactured the drive pre-formatted to NTFS in the beginning. All in all. I love this drive and would recommend for any tech-savvy and enthusiastic computer users out there. Love it!

Compact, Elegant & Reliable
I purchased this USB flash drive because the one I had been using had a little plastic loop which held it to my keychain, and after that broke (in about a week) I was constantly without a flash drive at opportune moments. This little gem is machined out of a single piece of aluminum; it has no moving parts, no attachments, no lights, and is about the thickness of two average house keys. As you can see in the photo, it has a large loop of solid aluminum for attaching to a key chain, carabiner, or whatever else. Before purchasing this I had considered the LaCie USB "iamakey," but so many of the reviewers said it was not very rigid and would bend too easily (like it was made of tin) so I opted for the more robust-looking Kingston DataTraveler SE9; I am definitely glad that I did.I have a Pioneer car stereo that has a front USB port, and this unit has no problems supporting the weight of my keychain while plugged into the stereo. My key-chain isn't exactly bursting with items, but it's not sparsely-populated either; I've got two house keys, two luggage keys, a Swiss+Tech UtiliKey, and a drum key on the detachable portion of my key-chain with the Kingston DataTraveler, and I have absolutely no concerns about it deforming while hanging from the stereo USB drive. The fit in the USB port is pretty solid and tight, so I also have no worries about it falling out while I'm driving. This is one of the best purchases I have made all year, as I literally use it every day, and for around $10 at 16GB it's a fantastic deal.Pros:--Solid, one-piece construction--Very portable; barely noticeable on a keychain--Relatively fast transfer speeds for the size (I have never felt like it was too slow for my purposes)--Reliable--Great priceCons:--No access indicator light (which doesn't bother me one bit, but others might like)

Doesn't feel cheap, and works well.
This USB is smaller than I thought it would be, even after seeing pictures of it. That being said, it will definitely fit on key chains without getting in the way. I first bought one for my boyfriend for his birthday, and he carries it on his keychain all the time. His last USB broke off the keychain (just plastic), so I wanted something more durable. This USB has some weight to it, and definitely doesn't feel cheap. It fits very snuggly into USB ports. I liked his enough, that I bought one for myself as well. I haven't used it much yet, so I can't comment on the longevity personally, but after 6 months, my boyfriend's has held up great. I would highly recommend this product. It's great quality for a great price.

Recomendable

It's Kingston, so of course it's great.
Kingston is a well-known brand with a reputation for reliability. As a computer tech for decades I've used Kingston because it never lets me down. I use Kingston for computer RAM and USB flash drives because I know I can trust their product.I built a high-end computer 9 years ago. I made sure I used high-quality components from the case, the power supply, the motherboard, to the Kingston RAM. The only part that failed was the hard drive. The Kingston RAM? Just keeps on working. The Data Traveler SE9 has a metal body, is smaller than most USB flash drives and just always works. For that reason it's the only brand I will purchase.I have several of them.
