Fun for giveaways, rainbow refractions are inconsistent
I purchased these as giveaways for students to learn a little bit about defracting light. The glasses are inconsistent in the defraction, the red glasses provided a really nice defraction but all the other colors were a light blurry rainbow (as shown in picture). The red glass, had a line down the middle of the right lens, like a seam down the lens. The kids still enjoyed them though, so that’s what’s important. These were good value for the money if it’s just something fun for the outdoors.

Not all the same quality
Believe it or not, the quality of glasses are not consistent. They may use the same general pattern when being made.... but... even among the same order from the same company, some of the glasses have a better effect than others. In my particular order, the red glasses were better than any other color. But even then, they didn't have the same brilliant effect as a pair I had purchased at a brick and mortar store a few years ago. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and get better quality. You'll be glad you did.

Lots of fun.
These are a fun novelty for both kids and adults. For the price, I can't see what else you could get for up to 50 people that would give them more amusement. While I believe they are designed to give a little extra special effect to fireworks, they are also good for entertaining tired kids on the drive home after dark. What these glasses do, is turn points of light (like streetlights, car headlights, etc) into little colorful starbursts, which children especially seem to get a kick out of (my kids call them their 'awesome glasses'.Build quality is pretty basic, a die-cut piece of cardboard, with thin plastic lenses glued into them. You can tell they were designed to be cheap and disposable, but they held up well over a weekend trip with the kids with little to no damage. If you are going to a fireworks display, or you need to occupy a busload of grade-school aged kids on a night-time trip, hand these out, and you'll be the hero of the day.

Fun and educational
As a science teacher, I use these to teach students about white light and how it is made of all colors of the rainbow. Super cool and fun for students. They are made of cardboard but if you just tell students to handle them carefully then they have lasted for years in my classroom. Great tool for science!

and fit in nicely with our unit about stars and spectroscopy
I used these glasses for a lesson plan about color spectra with a group of 7th graders. I set up 8 different sources of light (halogen, CFB, neon, incandescent, plus a couple of different flashlights, etc.) at different lab stations and had the kids walk around and observe the light patterns emitted by each. They were enthralled! It was a real "wow" moment, and fit in nicely with our unit about stars and spectroscopy. Many of the kids asked me where I got the glasses afterwards. I've seen a lot of these glasses for sale online, and I'm assuming they are of about the same quality, but for the price this set of 50 can't be beat. This will certainly be a permanent addition to my classroom, and as they get banged up through use it won't break the bank to replace them.
