OK amp for the price...product line quality questionable
This is for the EVO1600.4Came on time and packaged well. I bought this mainly because it matched the 1ohm stable monoblock i bought for my subs.Amp Installed easily in spite of the insufficient documentation. Can't really comment as to the amps actual power rating, but if its inflated to the same degree as the evo4000.1...Simple math: fused for 50 Amps x 13.6 Volts = 680 WattsYou might get away with this being a 700 Watt Amp. It sounds fairly good and it was easy to setup.Pros:Sounds fairly goodcame on timeeasy to set upremote sub level control if you're using ch 3/4 ( or the whole amp i assume ) in lpf mode for a sub or subsUnlike the (2) SSL EVO4000.1's I got (1 original purchase, 1 replacement for original purchase), this one didn't have self inflicted noise problemsCons:Inflated rating, but still a fair amp for the price.very little documentationvery little consistency in qualitySummary:I'm not sure I would buy any amp from this product line again. I am returning it. The only reason I chose this particular amp is to have matching amps in my setup, but since I am returning both the SSL EVO4000.1's Amazon sent me (1 original purchase and 1 replacement) because they have variations of the same problems out of the box, I have no need of an amp that matches that one any longer. I have decided to spend $100 more than the 2 amps together and get the Polk Audio D5000.5 5 channel amp instead, as it will be a near perfect match for the pair of Polk db1040dvc subs and the 4 Polk components in my system. Polk at least has trusted quality, and its ratings are not inflated. This is the last time I buy a budget brand amp. It's worth the peace of mind to just get the good stuff the first time.
