Pray What God Says Review: A Resource for Christian living and prayer - The book is an enriching resource on prayer. It provides tenets on how to call on God and become a good intercessor. It is the old time teaching about the importance of praying according to the will of God which you rarely find in the modern day preachers Review: Good book - I loved the book. Title may not have been right for it. It took me forever to read. I am going to say God wanted me to read some parts of the book over and over. There where several times I would turn to the next page and it would go back to the beginning. I would have to read parts of it over and over. But God was teaching me a lesson. One I had always struggled with. Helping others in need even when they didn't deserve it. I have a step son and his wife that are mentally challenged. I want to help them but, at the same time I feel used by them. I still help them when I can but, not like God wants me to. I don't help with a cheerful heart. The book is helping me change that. I am going to try to read it again and hope this time I can read it without having to read the same page over and over. I think each person that reads it will get something out of it. Even if it isn't how to pray.

Simplistic guide
This book, broken into prayer need categories, does indeed utilize scriptures deemed applicable by the author; Scripture verbatim is turned into prayer. It is a helpful guide, and the author describes it as a guide. That being said, if a guide is needed to shape one's prayers, other than searching the bible for one's self, this book can surely help, but googling scriptures related to your specific prayer need could probably also suffice.

great for the bedside table for times of need
This book is to help you understand God's word, will, and plan. It is intended to help you study the scripture and learn how they apply to your life and everyday situations. "Pray What God Says" will deepen your relationship with God through self-reflection and growth. Full of scripture for every felling, need and purpose. From health, strength, wisdom, and confidence to serving, worshipping and obeying the Lord. Also dealing with rejection, loneliness, and anger. Great book to have on your bedside table for those times of need or to reconnect with God.

Food for Your Soul
Once you get past the first few chapters it becomes obvious as to what the author is telling you. A powerful prayer life involves knowing exactly what our Heavenly Father has promised us. Most times we get so caught up with a long drawn out prayer because we think that this makes us more spiritual. The truth is that we need to know what the bible says about prayer and then to remind the Father of his promises for our lives. This book is a powerful read for anyone who wants a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.

This is a really good book, clear
This is a really good book, clear, easy to understand. Who among us really knows how to pray? This doesn't teach you a technique it teaches you about the bible, what God desires us to say to Him.

Can't recommend
I believe praying the scriptures is extremely valuable. It assures that our prayers are in line with God's desires and gives us words when we don't know exactly what to pray. It helps us esteem God's Word above our own words. However, my brief perusal of this book (which I downloaded for Kindle b/c it was free and I assumed it would be mainly the text of excellent Scripture passages to pray) quickly revealed its smack of the "health, wealth, and prosperity" or "name it and claim it" gospel that is a misrepresentation of our God and the truly good news. The author uses phrases like "speaking what the Word says is appropriating the power of God" and "availing yourself to [sic] this prayer key can and will gain you access to a divine response." This kind of thinking reduces our relationship with God through Jesus our great high priest to the level of a rabbit's foot or incantation. God is not a genie who must come when we use the right words. Instead, He has given us His Spirit and access to the throne of Grace, which we may approach with confidence to find help in time of need. The Scripture passages in this book are very short, KJV, often taken out of context, often misapplied to situations (eg. promises made to the nation of Israel and applied, here, to each individual believer). The author does affirm some wonderful truths; she exhorts us to honor the Word and do what it says. For a more helpful treatment of this topic, I recommend "A Call to Spiritual Reformation: Priorities from Paul and His Prayers" by D. A. Carson.

Pray What God Says.. The title says it all. For me an interesting book with much thought provoking ideas and words. The fact worth pondering over is... Does God speak to you? Or is it God speaking through you and your conscious? Or is it your conscious brain activity responding to your thinking and conscious question? Just an observation I thought I would add here. If you read the book much sense is explained to those seeking answers to deep questions, I found the book most interesting and would recommend such to any.

I am used to the NIV bible and going back to a version of the King James Bibles was a bit testing.
