They can be used in general recycling and waste bins, although double check your council will accept them in non-food waste recycling bins.

Q: Would these be suitable for keeping clothes in?

Well, you could provided that you then keep the bag somewhere dry (not the garage or the loft), but I suspect that there are better options for clothes storage. The bags are quite large and smaller sealable plastic options exist.

Q: are these bags EN13432 as listed by the council

I've had a look on one of our sacks and it doesn't say, however they are eco-friendly and I've had no problem with our council taking our green bin lined with one of these sacks.

Q: Could you use these for garden soil to take to the tip?

It might be ok if you didn’t overload the bag and if the soil wasn’t too wet. We use these bags to line our brown garden refuse bin. Although they are better than cheaper alternatives we have used in the past, they do let wet through if left too long.
