The thing about coffee is there seems to be a high degree of brand loyalty. Different brands taste pretty significantly different. People start out with a certain brand, learn to associate that aroma & taste with coffee. (I know that doesn't explain the horrid swill served up at Starbuck's, but what really would?) I've been drinking eight o'clock for half a century. It has a rich, mellow flavor and does the important work - waking me up. Coffee prices have gone through the roof for several reasons,none of them good. This is a very good price for a very good coffee.

I use Eight O'clock Original Whole Bean for pour over. It produces a good cup of coffee that is consistent from bag to bag, cup to cup. I usually buy it at my local grocery store but decided to try ordering form Amazon for a better deal. Enjoying a cup now while I write this review. I was very pleased with how it was packaged, the 6 (18oz) bags were boxed from the parent company of Eight O'clock and that was packed in an Amazon box. Product arrived in excellent condition and the Best By date is 6 months out. Thank you Amazon

It honestly breaks my heart to write this because I absolutely love this coffee. For the longest time, the Eight O'Clock Original was my daily driver. It is "The Original" for a reason—it’s a wonderful, flavorful, easy-drinking medium roast. Plus, being able to get it in whole bean meant I could always count on a fresh, fantastic cup of coffee to start my day. Before recently, it was easily the best option out there for both quality and value. ​Unfortunately, they completely jacked up the price. With the cost nearly doubling from what it used to be, it just isn't affordable for a daily routine anymore. I sadly had to cancel my subscription because of it. ​If budget isn't an issue for you, the coffee itself easily deserves five stars. But purely based on the price hike, I just can't justify it anymore. Five stars for the flavorful coffee minus one star for the price hike.

When we were young, smelling this brand coffee brewing, smelled so good, even to us. Then when we got on our own, this is one of the brands we went back to. It smells wonderful brewing and tastes smooth and strong without being bitter. Not the only brand we like, but definitely one of the brands we will continue to go back to.

There are a few brands of coffee that I buy in general. They are all medium roast and what I drink 90% of the time. I'm not a coffee snob and as long as the coffee isn't too acidic, I'm generally happy. I find my taste buds acquire the taste of the current bag after a few days of a switch. This makes a completely fine daily cup of coffee. I find the whole beans more consistent so I usually order. One bag lasts me at least a month. I do use an espresso maker so that may affect my results but I don't get complaints anytime I serve this. I believe this is the best value in coffee beans that I purchase.

Edited: I’ve been buying this exact same coffee at the local grocery store ( Publix ) and the coffee is amazing . Smells great and tastes amazing. The coffee is received from Amazon has no smell and tastes terrible . I suspect it was stored wrongly . Coffee beans have a tendency of absorbing odors from surroundings . My first thought when the packaging arrived is that the bag was loose . 2026 ; I’ve purchased several more bags since I wrote the last review and the coffee arrived perfect. I guess I was unlucky that first order. One thing I’ve noticed is that this coffee is very sensitive to quantity used in my drip machine. A little too much and it’s bitter , I’ve had to carefully measure the amount of scoops per pot .

Oh wow so fragrant Just worth the wait .. Greatful it finally arrived So now my mother can sit and enjoy her 8oclock coffee 😊

I have tried different brands of coffee, but none can stand up to eight O''clock. Far as I am concerned it is the best and I will stick with it.

Did not taste the same as I bought in store

I received a one kilogram bag which is 35.2739619 ounces, and paid for a 42 ounce bag. Shorted by about 1/6 th. thats about 16.67% less coffee than i paid for.
