Great for calligraphy!
As someone who's a beginner in calligraphy, these markers are your best first bet for practice. They're inexpensive and they work well, with great and smooth ink flow and fluidity. They're sharp and finely pointed, so it's definitely fit the calligraphic aspect it was made for. Of course, these don't work like fountain pens so don't expect the same results. But with all things considered, these markers are perfect for designing, coloring, writing, or whatever artwork or written work that you want to use them for!

These are very nice to practice with
These are very nice to practice with! Although, the red's ink seems just a tad dry. The blue, black, and brown inks are plentiful and very smooth. The green seems a bit less smooth but the color is smooth and vibrant. They are all vibrant.

LOVE these BUT Price Issue! I’ve contacted Sharpie to find out why!
Price $89-$140!? I absolutely LOVE these pens & been using them for years. They’re unbelievably easy & really last. Last bought on Amazon for about $24 & that was pretty bad given they used to be $12 (ouch). Paid double because of how great they are. I’ve contacted Sharpie directly asking about this issue so hopefully I’ll get a response explaining what’s up & I’ll let you know…

O.K.ish.......
With chisel tip markers becoming harder to find close to home, I ordered these after reading the reviews. I have been doing calligraphy for several decades and was anxious to try this line of Sharpie pens. They weren't quite the pens that I hoped they would be. The ink bled on some types of paper making the writing look fuzzy. Additionally, the tips did not have as definite precision as a metal tip. That said, the colors were nice and sometimes the calligraphy would look ok. I will be using them occasionally, but do not plan to order them again.

These seem great! And economical!
We're practicing calligraphy with a group of teens and have several sets of markers. The favorites seem to be the Martha Stewart pens, but these are very good also, much better than the third set we tried and nobody liked. These glide well on paper and are easy to maneuver. these types of pens can get very expensive, so I really appreciate the economical price for this set.

I'm really happy with these
The size is right, the price was right, and the markers are precise and easy to hold.I didn't experience the inconsistent tips another reviewer did. Concerned about that review, I dashed off a quick test at work. I was happy with the results, which you can see in the product gallery. The ink barely bled through the recycled notebook paper, and there was minimal feathering.I added a new photo. Something dripped on one of my doodles, and the ink ran. While I'm not entirely surprised and will use the markers anyway, it's good to know! These are much more transparent than the Zig calligraphy markers I have, but Zig markers are twice as much, even if you have a local craft store coupon.Yes, the "purple" one is actually brown. The insert inexplicably has a gothic black letter alphabet for calligraphy newbies. I find that hand incredibly difficult and unforgiving, and would suggest newbies look up the more common Italic alphabet instead.

Hard to Maneuver.
This was a really disappointing purchase. The tip is chiseled, but it's ridiculously stiff. It's hard to maneuver the pen and write naturally and beautifully. I had to pause and turn the pen in order to get different thicknesses. I won't be using these for calligraphy; they will become my new throw-away pens.Pro: The ink is exactly what you expect from Sharpie: clean and vivid.

I was expecting "Sharpie" but this is water based and ...
I was expecting "Sharpie" but this is water based and smears if you use any paper other than bond. Bond will smear if you don't let it dry as well. Even on bond, it absorbs so there isn't a definitive "line" that is necessary for calligraphy.

These are great. They do have a fairly wide tip however. They work great as a beginner pen to get your angles and writing style down before moving on to dip pens.
