1994 edition was better
This excellent book is less excellent than it used to be. I have bought many of the 1994 edition as gifts for Russian friends trying to improve their idiomatic English. The old edition was narrow and pocket size. It had a plastic cover. Most importantly, it was in a much better font and all black print. This edition is still small but is wider than the old one. It is harder to read because the editors decided to print the Russian language words in blue reducing the contrast and blurring the letters. There are errors too. Right away I saw that there is no transliteration of AND in the list of conjunctions. There are no transliterations of labels on drawings such as points of the compass (N, S, E, W) or names of animals, only the Russian spelling in difficult to read blue ink.I agree with other reviewers that the lack of accent marks in the transliteration is a shortcoming, but I see the earlier edition doesn't have them either.

304 Pages Packed With Vocab
The book came on time in new condition. It's small enough to carry in a cargo pocket. The Russian is all in blue ink, which might have been either less faint, or in red, but that's a minor quibble.

It includes pictures and a comprehensive list of vocabulary themes.
Very good, as expected from books in this collection.

Very good book but don't use it a lot...
This book is great!!! I used it in a Russian speaking country when I needed help.I like how the vocabulary is grouped together by category but the main problem is that the book is falling apart now. It's just a minor problem because I can just glue the pages back in the book but after doing it a few times, it's not cool.

A good pocket resource tool
A good pocket resource tool. i found it a little hard to navigate at first, but once I got a feel for it it was very useful for remembering a phrase or number that I couldn't quite come up with in my second language. I carry it with me in my pack back daily.

Nifty book, but where are the accent marks?
This is a handy little book and well worth the small price. I just wish it had the accents marked on the russian words rather than their transliterations.

It is what it says it is!
Very good book of practical vocabulary. Nicely organised and arranged. It’s actually smaller in size than a typical paperback so you can easily carry it in your jacket pocket or bag.
