Got the Jon boat which is pretty much bare bones other than the two deep cycle ...
Took her out for the first time this past Thursday on my 1648 Lowe Big Jon. Got the Jon boat which is pretty much bare bones other than the two deep cycle Marine batteries up the 3.68 mph according to GPS. Overall I am satisfied with the thrust and performance but the motor rattled a lot although I had it as tightly clamped down as possible. Looking forward to a lot of great fishing days to come and praying for a lot of life out of this trolling motor.

Nice new tensioner and long handle.
Nice unit overall, it does bounce a lot in traveling, so I have to tie down from bouncing a lot on the trailer, I just don't like the pivot mount flexing that much.Only "gripe" is the the handle forward and reverse twisting is opposite a normal tiller operation ie twist clockwise on my gas motor, I throttle up (moving forward), but on this motor, twisting clockwise puts you in reverse!! Not bad once you use it for a while, but when you first start out, takes a lot of getting used to.

Over a a ten year span I do a lot of trolling and wiil run steady trolling for 10 to 12 hours on good batteries. I love the 24 v

Works great. Put it on my 18' Jon boat and it pushes it around like a boss!!just wish they would've made the battery hookups a little longer. They are only about four foot long so your batteries have to be pretty close to where you mount it.

Damaged Motor
Motor was damaged during shipment, had to have it repaired at authorized repair station. Got prompt attention and now waiting if I have to pay for repair. The motor performs very well, very happy with it.

The Rolls of trolling motors
This sucker has everything on it and appears to be built like a bank vault. My husband has studied it back and forth and there isn't anything he doesn't like. He's really looking forward to using it in the spring.

Died after 6 months
Used about 30 times over the course of a summer. Got it in March of 2016 and it stopped running at the end of September. Had a guy come out to work on our solar panels for the boat batteries and he mentioned you can't run this motor up to full power for more than a minute or two at a time or it will fry itself. A number of other folks on our lake have had the same issue (our lake prohibits gas engines).
