Mtd 946-04173E Lawn Tractor Blade Engagement Cable Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part

Ordered this after a cheap replacement I had bought broke after about 5 hours of use. This costs a little more, but appears to be a genuine replacement and looks exactly like the original cable that came with my troy-bilt pony.Don't buy the cheap knock offs, not worth the money. I will update this review if there are any issues in the near future.

Second time I used my mower after installing this cable--- about half way through--- the spring broke-- waiting to see if they make it right-- in meantime-- I will have to pay someone to cut my grass. ugh - went ahead and ordered another one

I've had it for a month now and used it a few times, so far, so good. This is as close to the original as I could find. Do not buy one of the cheaper 15 to 20 dollar range ones you find here and other places. I tried one of those originally and the cable pulled out of the small aluminum crimp end the first time I engaged the deck. This is more expensive but worth the extra money. It was a little shorter than the original but it has not been a problem. My equipment was a 2011 or 2012 Sears Lt 1500 riding lawn mower, pretty much the same as a husqvarna or Walmart series mower.

I have a Bolens 38 inch mower, and this cable was a nightmare to install. It works, but the end that goes to the lever took forever to connect. It's not the cable's fault, but instead, it is a poor design by Bolens.

The cable broke after one month, about 4 cuts. Do not advise buying this item at all. It is supposed to be an OEM product, but I have my doubts. How does the original cable last 14 years and this one just over 4 weeks. Easy to install and fits correctly but the cable snaps at the metal connector right under the battery. Of course I am now one week past being able to return it. Will not be buying any more replacements from Amazon. Tried a cheaper one first and that only lasted two weeks. From what I read this OEM product was supposed to be the answer, but of course it is not.

Bought this cable on July 20,2020 and on September 8.2020 it broke. The tip of it so very disappointed.

Bought this one as opposed to some similar products and chose wisely. Now been using it at least twice a week on the mower and so far it has held up and doing the job well
