Small but mighty. Would recommend.
This an excellent little multi-tool. I work on a farm and often carry full-size multi-tools, but when I don't, I throw this in my pocket and it does a great job. The fact that the pliers are spring-loaded at this price and size is excellent. It also has sharp, useful tools and the bottle opener on the end is convenient. For those wanting something smaller than full size, I would recommend this.

Good quality tool if assembled right
This is a pocket-size multitool with good mix of just the right tools. Quality of the materials meets Gerber standards (I also own a Gerber Suspension which I think is the best of its kind). The only issue I have with the Gerber Dime is the assembly. The first one delivered to me, the knife wouldnt open unless it was pried open. I replaced that one, but on the second one the file would barely open. I used WD-40 and 3-in-1 oil on it with little effect. Maybe it just needs to be broken in. I'll keep it. The blade is sharp and the box cutter is even sharper, so far its the most useful thing on board. The spring loaded mini-pliers and mini-scissors are handy, just dont put too much strain on them. The bottle opener is so small it takes multiple trys to pry open a bottle cap. There are also tweezers to help with the ever-present cactus needles we have in Texas. Compared with other pocket-sized rigs, the Gerber Dime is better designed with better materials. If you can get one that was assembled right, you should be happy with it for a long time. Update: Seems like the 3-n-1 Oil I applied finally made it to the point of friction. All the tools open more easily now. I used a knife sharpener made for pocket knives on the blade, now I have an edge. It's a keeper! This handy little multitool is going to live in my pocket from now on. Recommended.

Great pocket tool - Great Quality
I did a lot of research. The Leatherman PS4 sounds like it may edge out the Gerber Dime ever so slightly but at a premium in price. I carry this loose in my pocket with my keys. It was a little heavy to attach to key chain. I've used it a handful of times in the last 2 months - mostly the pliers and package opening tool. This is a well made quality tool. Not meant for heavy duty tasks - it is a pocket tool. The package opening tool is great! Opens those hard to open plastic sealed items with ease. The knife was OK sharp but I sharpened it with my Spyderco sharpening rods and in a couple minutes had it very sharp. This is small enough to comfortably carry in your pocket and forget it is there (don't forget to remove if going to airport!). The tools were a little tight opening, but not too bad. I could easily open each tool with fingernail. I got the red/black Gerber Dime. A Youtube video reviewer mentioned the black one was a little more difficult to open tools possibly due to the black coating on the blades. This is not a cheapy $8 tool you buy at Khols or in the discount bend at your local hardware store. This is the real deal. There are several Youtube reviews on this and the Leatherman. For an occasional use tool, I was more comfortable spending $18 rather than $29 for basically the same thing... plus the Leatherman does not have the package opener. Haven't used the bottle opener yet, but I'm sure it will do the job. Nice that it is a double prong opener. I was a little concerned that it sticking out of the end would get in the way or catch in my pocket. It does neither. It actually makes it easier to open the pliers. Instead of a negative, I give the bottle opener an extra star. If you are a tradesman that uses this type of tool on a regular basis, I would assume you have the larger Leatherman multi-tools. But for a handy little utility tool, easily carried in your pocket I give the Gerber Dime 5 starts... a must have tool.

Mostly good, but tools are hard to open
I bought this as a replacement for a Leatherman PS2, a discontinued microtool with pliers. Leatherman still makes the Micra, which has scissors instead of pliers, but I needed something with pliers as the main tool. The tool is only a little thicker than the Leatherman products. It's the same length and width. First, the problems. The springs and hinges on all the tools are very stiff, making it hard to open anything. The nail nicks are also angled in such a way as to make it hard to pull the tools to pull open. I've broken several fingernails trying to open the screwdrivers and knife. Next, the file is both very short and the ridges are cut very shallow. It's barely useable as a nail file. Don't expect to use it to file wood or metal. The file is also about 1/2 in long. It would have been better to put the file on the box/package opener tool, which is full length. The knife is somewhat dull, and I prefer a sharper point over the sheep-foot shape. That said, any reasonable DIYer should be able to sharpen a knife or regrind one to their preferred profile. On the good side, the tool overall build quality and finish are pretty good. Not as crisp and precise as Leatherman products, but still pretty good. The scissors, tweezers, and bottle opener/paint can opener are all quite useable. The pliers have areas for large diameter objects, smaller straight teeth. Most importantly, the jaws tips touch first, so you can grab small items tightly. Overall, for the price it's pretty good quality and fairly usable. I'm deducting a star because the tools are so hard to open that I'm going to think twice before risking a fingernail trying to open them.

Small Size, Big Function — A Perfect Pocket Multitool
The Gerber Dime surprised me with how much functionality they packed into such a small tool. The needle-nose pliers are solid for quick fixes, the blade is sharp enough for everyday tasks, and the bottle opener design is always ready to go without unfolding anything. Everything opens smoothly and feels sturdy for its size. It clips easily onto a keychain and disappears in your pocket until you need it. For quick daily jobs, travel, camping, or backup gear, this little multitool delivers way more usefulness than you’d expect. Great build quality,

Me sert à ouvrir, visser, tirer, couper rapidement. Attention toute fois, la pince est là en appoint mais ne résistera pas à une trop forte pression. Point faible : la garantie à vie vendu par le contructeur, ne s'applique que pour les achats aux US Dommage

Its very good for as cheap it is. However keep in mind there are few things about it. -I had to modify the pliers cutter - as it wont cut anything as the cut is not made on angle its instead 90 degrees flat. I added chamfer with a file on both sides so it works like scissors now and cuts small wires and zipties - before it was not able to do it. -I made tiny file into a spudger so it can be slipped between something and help to open stuff. those files are way to small to be of use anyway. -the tongs are not very strong and they can easily bend, so you can only use them to hold something. but you wont be bending wires with this or taking off nuts or bolts, its to fragile -you need to be very careful when using pliers as when compressing them it will pinch your fingers or skin between moving parts , you need to hold it by the very end of handle , same with folding and unfolding - the spring are quite strong so they can trap a finger or two if not careful -the knife blade is bend outwards , making it useless for a lot of applications, if you want to peel a carrot or sharped a stick for example the blade should be bend inside or left straight..but no its is bend outside not sure what is the purpose? it just slips off .. its also quite dull so you need to sharpen it. Overall its a very nice toll to have and as a bonus it has very useful tweezers ! But its made of low quality steel, so it will bend a lot and its quite a toy rather than a tool.. the good thing is that its easy to sharpen it and modify it using simple tools as steel used is very soft and easy to work with. I keep it with my keys, but keep in mind its heavy as three SD minis so its on its heavy side

İADE ettim çünkü ürün ufacık bir zorlamada deforme oldu ve kullanılmaz hale geldi.
