Had a book that was falling apart which was quite pricey and would take almost a month to ship a replacement. Decided to buy this to preserve the book, and many others. its done an excellent job. Its quick once you get the hang of it and with all the image editing options the scan came out looking better than the original book !

If I want to be really picky, the only thing I dislike about this is the poor quality of the written instructions both on screen and in the (very limited) printed manual. That said, it took all of twenty minutes to get up and running and successfully scanning a book into to A PDF. It's fast!

Most user-friendly scanner I have ever used. Highly recommended. Bit pricey, but if you do a lot of scanning, but can't afford the robot version costing thousands, then I would suggest that this is what you want.

The correction function which transforms the scanned image from the papers curvature to a flat projection does not work properly. It seems that it work in ideal circumstances in terms of paper height differenced and simple shapes. But for my application (scanning A3 sized books) it simply didn't work properly. In the result, the scanned test was often impossible to OCR recognise.

Quality packing. Easy to assemble and set up once you've worked out that the side light is held magnetically and found its on-off switch. I suggest you make a note of the Serial Number on the base first and be careful how you enter it when asked as it's 5 groups of numbers and letters. The de-curving software is impressive. The OCR worked very accurately for me coping with plain and italic text. I find using it much quicker than flat bed scanners and there's much less need for post scanning photoshop correction.
