J. Herbin Fountn Pen Ink 30Ml Violette Pensee

This purple from J. Herbin is simply fantastic. I've used this ink both with very wet (basically putting down "heaping" lines of wet ink) nibs and ones that are more forgiving. With the wetter nibs on Rhodia paper, this ink produces a beautiful and crisp purple line. When using a drier writing instrument the shadowing and feel is just amazing. I have used many brands of ink in my search for one that's perfect for my preferences... and so far I've found that J. Herbin inks tend to "feel" the nicest/smoothest and have great color. Wonderfully colored ink. Starts as a light-ish purple, and turns a nice mid-dark shade of lilac as it dries. Dried color is similar to the Lamy Limited Edition Dark Lilac. Ink flows very smoothly in my Lamy Safari fountain pens and Lamy Joy Calligraphy pen. Writing with this just makes the nib feel like it's gliding over teflon. I love it. I also like that this color is similar to the Dark Lilac Lamy inks, so when I run out of that, I'll have something to use it with that matches the pens.

When a company has been producing a product for centuries, you expect their product to be high quality. Herbin's ink doesn't dissatisfy. The violette pensée is a great shade if you want a purple that isn't more blue or red; it's definitely PURPLE! I knocked a star off because of Amazon's "packaging experts." My latest bottle was tossed into a small box with a small piece of wadded-up brown paper. When I received it, the plastic lid was cracked and it had leaked a small amount inside the product packaging. Since I had a small amount left in my last bottle, I switched lids to ensure the new one doesn't leak or dry out. Other than packing to ship, I have nothing but praise for this ink when used in my fountain pens.

I'm not big into purple, but I do love this shade. When I first purchased it I was using fine-nib fountain pens and the color was too pale for me. Now I have moved to medium and broad nib Twsbi's, and the ink really pops on the page - I love pop! Now I totally love the color and highly recommend. The ink is well behaved. I've not issues in any pens.

J. Herbin are the best when it comes to value in inks. Perform great, don't dry too quickly (*so you may keep pen uncapped for longer), and it goes down on paper glossy, remaining sheeny after. My favorite bang for you buck line. This shade is great.

I use this with a Lamy Vista Fountain Pen Demonstrator, Clear Fine Nib (L12F) and Clairefontaine paper... The color is very special, it works great for annotations if you only use the typical black or blue inks, and it flows smootly... I do wish it came in a bigger size.

I couldn't have dreamed this color would be so outstanding, it's vibrant and flows wonderful. It definitely stains, even if you try to clean super quick, but aside from that it's great.

I previously wrote a review saying that I was disappointed in this ink, and would not buy again. I have to retract that review, as this is really pretty on some kinds of paper. It is somewhat paler on some paper, but is quite vivid on others. I really like it now!

Beautiful ink! I've switched to fountain pen for daily use because this stuff is so nice. Cheap pen, nice ink, good times. One of my favourite colours, nice and deep, doesn't fade, true violet colour.

段ボール箱ではなく紙の袋で届いたのでインクの外箱がボコボコに凹んでしまっていました。 インク自体は期待通りの素敵な紫で満足です。これからたくさん使っていきたいです。

Dans sa bouteille et sur la plume de mon stylo, l'encre Violette Pensée semble très violette et très claire. Une fois sèche sur le papier, c'est un violet-bleu que je trouve parfaitement équilibré, fidèle à la tradition 🇫🇷 (AJOUT)Je veux ajouter quelque chose, autre que sa teinte et son histoire singulières. Il y a quelques semaines, j'ai acheté un très beau stylo, guilloché GvFC, mais dont le débit d'encre et la largeur de la plume sont franchement généreux (euphémisme !), et ça me posait de gros problèmes. Je l'ai essayé avec différentes encres, et à chaque fois, l'encre abondante débordait de son trait, traversait le papier, bavait, se dissipait dans les fibres du papier (Clairefontaine 90g). J'étais toujours gêné, j'écrivais à reculons. Et puis je me suis dit "tiens, et si je l'essayais avec Violette Pensée", ça n'est certainement pas un hasard si cette encre était la seule utilisée par les enfants dans les écoles françaises entre 1820 et 1966... Et là, miracle. Le mariage avec ce stylo est parfait à bien de égards. Le comportement de cette encre est remarquable, les traits sont fins si on le veut, ou plus épais, il n'y a aucun débordement malgré la générosité de la plume. Je n'ai jamais vu ça. Cette encre a une capacité à se tenir, à garder sa forme sur le papier, à rester légère et ne pas traverser au séchage. Je suis vraiment heureux car ce stylo est génial et grâce à cette encre il peut s'exprimer.
