Fleck 617629987478 5600 12-Day Timer Replacement Softener Valve

Everything you need to replace a dead timer control.comes in the box including a brine filter and other brine line hardware. The internal valves and O-rings are pre-installed and lubricated with silicone grease. The valve fit perfectly on my softener tanks and was easy to install with simple hand tools.I bought this to replace the one that the water-well repair guy broke on his last trip out. The valves in the old one were stuck so Einstein decided to use Vice Grips on knob. That didn't work out so well. Anyway, the guy wanted $500 to replace the thing! Yeah right!I watched a couple YouTube videos on how to replace these things since I have never done this before. Trust me, it isn't rocket science. The hard part is moving and emptying the water and spent resin beads from the water softener tank. Helpful hint: Remove the valve/timer from the tank and siphon the water out with a short piece of hose. That will drop the weight of the tank substantially.Anyway, I replaced the valve/timer PLUS the softener resin beads for $360 total. I can imagine what the repair guy would have charged me for the resin replacement. My guess is that I saved around $750 for a half days work.

Super easy to install, easy to setup & use. Replaced the Fleck 5600Sxt digital metered valve that came with my Fleck 5600 SXT Iron Pro 48,000 Grain Water Softener purchased & installed in 2017. The digital meter was giving me multiple error codes, I cleaned all the fittings & passages, reset the screen several times. Junked it for this tried and true analog pin style timer, I originally had this same analog head on my previous system that lasted over 10 years. Might use a little more water, I feel it will be much more durable.

I normally don’t write reviews for products that do what they are supposed to do. This product does what it is supposed to do. The real value is in the description and the product page. (Also the reviews that were listed there) most of my questions were answered and I felt comfortable purchasing this item. Although there were no directions in the box, it is really straight forward to install. Back up and running and couldn’t have been 15 minutes from start to finish.

So much cheaper than buying a new softener. Very quick and easy change out. Also put some iron out and resin cleaning solution in brine tank to clean out the resin and water is perfect. Soaps lather up and you body feels clean after showering. Before it felt like coming out of the ocean after a swim .

Fleck 5600 valve is excellent. I got 25 years out of my old one with a single timer motor replacement. These valves are easy to install rebuild kits as well too.The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is was extremely late probably because it was shipped using Spee Dee. Never had an online product shipped with SpeeDee before or the seller sat on it.

Not used to home repairs going this easy. Disconnecting the old valve was easy, just a little hard to get a wrench on it. I discovered the basket (that attaches under the unit) unscrews CLOCKWISE (It wouldn't hurt to get a new one with a unit). Had it up and running in less than 2 hours.

Bought the same model 4 years ago. Now replacing it with new. Tried the rebuild kit without success.
