Solid Book Despite Some Confusion
Scarlet Witch holds an odd place in the Marvel universe. Her powers and backstory often change depending on the writer and she has been subjected to more than a few sudden shifts in personality and priorities. Nonetheless, she remains a popular character and that shows no signs of slowing down with her spot in the Marvel movies.Just like the character, “Avengers: Scarlet Witch” is a bit unfocused. The book starts with a four issue miniseries from the always solid Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning when Scarlet Witch was on the West Coast Avengers. While the art often resorts to the worst traits of the 1990s, this is generally a fine story. This is followed by going back a few years with a strange pairing with Dr. Strange from the back of a “Marvel Team Up” comic from the 1980s. Scarlet Witch stays in the 1980s with a moving story from Dennis Mallone from the “Solo Avengers” comic. Returning to the 90s, there are a series of stories from “Marvel Comics Presents” which are hindered by wildly different art and a belabored time travel plot. This is followed by a shorter “Marvel Comics Presents” story and a “Mystic Arcana” one shot from 2007 which features some of Scarlet Witch’s origins. The book closes with “Avengers Origins: Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch” from 2013 which shows her time with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants--which reflect stories from the early 1960s.It’s a bit of a mess but fans of the Scarlet Witch should enjoy this book. The problem is there are so many twists and turns over her lengthy career that casual fans might end up a little confused. Recommended but unless you’re really tuned into Marvel continuity, you might want to do your homework first.

Avengers Scarlet witch collection
A really good look at Wanda and how her powers work plus the story about her soul being sent to the past in one of her ancestors bodies amazingWanda Maximoff , the most bewitching Avenger, goes it alone in this collection of her solo adventures away from Earth's Mightiest Heroes! First, the science of cosmic writing team DnA and the magic of the Scarlet Witch combine in true comic book alchemy! Now, Wanda must confront very personal demons, pitting her uncanny hex powers against horrifically twisted versions of the West Coast Avengers!COLLECTING: SCARLET WITCH 1-4, AVENGERS ORIGINS: SCARLET WITCH & QUICKSILVER 1; MATERIAL FROM MARVEL TEAM-UP (1972) 125; SOLO AVENGERS 5; MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS (1988) 60-63, 143-144; MYSTIC ARCANA: SCARLET WITCH

Multi Origins
This was a fun read. I took my time. I am seeing potential plot lines and story weaving that Marvel has already used for inspiration and probably will continue to use going forward with the interconnected story telling of their universe as it concerns phase 5. I like it.
