Pearl iZUMi PURE run is what happens when you re-think the running experience from the ground up. A starting point not rooted in '70s folklore or industry dogma, but in simply creating better running products. The Pearl iZUMi design process has no constraints based on that's-the-way-everyone-does-it thinking or complex techno mumbo-jumbo. Pearl iZUMi PURE run is simply a better way of designing products. All Pearl iZUMi products are created based on a philosophy of no complexity and no compromise. The result is out-of-the-box comfort you can see and feel. This is PURE run.

Good shoes but relatively narrow front-foot size which makes you feel constricted
I am usually comfortable with size 43 dress shoes or running shoes which have some room, but this one probably needed 43.5 if there is one (a 44 can become loose at heels). The biggest drawback in this shoe according to me is a relatively narrow front-foot design which I felt unusual. My front-foot is not even as wide as many of my friend and yet I feel compressed inside the shoe. That is the part of your feet which is deployed on the pedal-axle when you are cycling. The back-foot/heel is comfortable. The sole is solid but gets a bit slippery if you try to walk on tiled surfaces. The pocket on the upper side of the tongue is useful to tuck in the laces. There is netting in the front end of the shoe which allows air circulation, but it is a bit stuffy on the back-end and I felt a bit stuffy. On this aspect, I have to be honest that this are my first proper biking shoes and I am benchmarking against my running shoes like ASICs, New Balance & Vibrams for the aspects like breathability, fit, etc. But my guess is that it should not be markedly different except for the aspect of sole solidness needed for biking for maximum power transfer unlike running where you want more flexible soles. The Shimano SM-SH56 SPD Cleats that I got separately fitted quiet well and I tested them out in the gym for spinning.Like MTB cleats their placement is recessed and hence you can walk around with it with reasonable comfort as there is no protrusion.I am just hoping that the front side loosens out a bit with use.

I love these things!
Just what the doctor ordered, literally. I have a Morton's Neuroma in my right foot and finding cycling shoes that don't irritate it on long rides is a major pain.I'm a recreational rider and occasional commuter. I ride about 130 miles a week during the warmer months, so my shoes get a workout. I found the fit to be fine for my shoe size. I have a fairly wide foot (size 11), and a very high instep. In the cleat style shoes a 46 works for the length, but i have challenges with the tongue being too narrow on those so I don't wear them. Because of the other reviews saying these run small, I ordered a 47, and fine that there is more than enough room, but if I lace them up tight they are snug. They handle my wide foot and high instep like champs. I could have probably lived with a 46 based on the fit of these 47s, but laced up snugly these fit well. Hopefully they won't stretch much.I love the sole (pattern and material), and the esthetics of the shoe. I was looking for something that didn't look obnoxious when I get off the bike and go for coffee or a lunch somewhere (cleats are completely unsuitable for this). I was seeking a casual shoe that didn't look obvously like a 'cycling shoe' that I could walk around in normally. These fit the bill perfectly.

fresh and comfortable shoes, go 2 number higher
I commute every day to work with these, bought them 4 month ago and I ride 10km for about 30 minutes each trip.I'm 41.5 and these are 43 so you have to go at least 2 numbers higher than you normally do.At first they fit very narrow but they get loose and comfortable as you use them. When the fit was small my feet got numb a couple times on rides longer than an hour but that's not the case anymore. It was spring when I bought them and they are very fresh, it doesn't rain much here in Santiago but when it does I use other shoes more that are water resistant.I change shoes when I get to the office but this cycling shoes can flex a bit and doesn't sound like tap shoes so they are comfortable enough to use all day but I wouldn't go running with them.I've bought this with shimano PD-M324 Clipless/Clip Pedals https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AT33CW/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2 and they worked just fine.I recommend to use the lowest level of grip in the pedals and go high as you get use to being attached to the bike.

Good fit once I got the size right
I usually wear a size 8 in running shoes, 7.5 if they're minimalist and worn without socks. I have some Pearl iZUMI triathlon shoes that I wear a 7.5 in. But after reading all the reviews about these shoes running small, I ordered a 43 and they were way too big. Submitted an exchange request for a 42's and had them within a couple days. The 42's fit perfect!Like these shoes, I have a Full Suspension MTB with some Candy 3's and have only worn them on the bike a few times but they seem fine. I like the fact that I can walk around with them without making too much noise. I did put the Crank Brothers cleat shield under the cleats so it makes them a little higher and they do "click" a little on concrete when walking but not bad. What I really like is the little pocket under the tongue to tuck the shoe laces in. The shoes seem like they'll hold up well with mud and serous biking. Time will tell.

Great commuter/workout/townhopping shoe!
I bought these initially for commuting to/from work, and so I wouldn't need a second pair of shoes to walk around in once I got to the office. Originally I was working in a place where I was standing most of the day as well, so it was a pleasant surprise when I could buy these and give them a shot. They've been more than I hoped for, and continue to be a great shoe not just for commuting on the bike, but times when I go to work out and discover the local gym has a stationary bike with clips. So good! They seem to disperse perspiration fine, and have been very durable in the miles I've put on them. They take a beating both from pushing down/walking around and pulling up on the pedals on a good climb. Expecting to pick up another set if/when these wear out.
