Still Working Well After 3+ Years of Constant Use
We ordered the KX-TG4771B with 1 Corded and 1 Cordless Handset combination set back in September of 2013 for two main reasons:1. There is no cell phone reception available on the small island where we live2. A corded phone does work during power outages, (cordless handsets do NOT work during power outages), and we seem to have more power outages here than we ever had while living on the mainland. All functions of both phones are still working well after three years of constant use. The cordless handset is still running on the original batteries that came with the phone. My favorite features are:• The corded handset works during power outages (Caller ID does not)• The LED Displays on both phones are large enough to see and read even without glasses• The ability to block specific callers from the phone• Good range of distance on the cordless handset• Good sound qualityOverall, we are very happy with how well and how long these phones have worked without any problems or issues.Q: Would I buy another Panasonic Landline phone?A: Absolutely!Q: Would I buy the same model Panasonic Landline phone?A: Probably not.• The Panasonic KX-TG4771B is a 2012 model phone.• Panasonic has released other models of corded landline phones that include the same features that were available back in 2013 when we ordered this phone.• The newer phones also include upgraded features (like Bluetooth / Link2Cell capability) that weren’t available back in 2013.

Decent deskphone with answ machine & cordless features
Purchased this phone/answering machine lightly used through an Amazon seller. It came with everything in the original box (plus a couple of extra cordless phones that work with the base). The KX-TG4771 is a CORDED DESK PHONE (with speaker phone)- It has a built in Answering machine and options to use phone company answering services as well.- On screen is caller ID, current time/date, whether the system is in use, and more.- One additional cordless (wireless) handset is in the basic pack and more can be added.- Additional handsets do not attach to the base phone, even for charging. They have their own chargers.- At least one cordless handset is needed to access some basic settings. Most notable of these is recording your own message for the answering maching.- The phone's corded handset (that is the part you pick up) has no buttons on it - like an old fashioned desk phone.I am using this system to replace an older Panasonic cordless desk phone/speaker phone/answering machine, model KX-TG2258.Comments:The new phone system is harder to setup and the instructions are slightly harder to figure out. For example, the instructions have [menu] but not until you press the # button will the phone cue you for the code. Unfortunately some basic things need a code, and some settings require the cordless handset. Bottom line is that it was not intuitive, but it wasn't that hard to figure out with a little trial and error and reading the instructions. The sound quality and range is much better than the older 2.4 GHz phone. Is the sound as good an old fashioned corded phone (when in good condition)? Not quite, but close. Also the old phones can lose quality too if the carbon gets packed. The cordless so far has not dropped out in parts of my house where the old cordless had.The cord on the handset has uses a smaller plug than the typical module phone. If you want to extend it, make sure the plugs on the longer wire will work.Adding additional handsets requires "registering" the new handsets to the base. It's pretty easy once you find the instructions under "Special Programming".Being a corded phone, Panasonic designed it so the basic phone works in case of power loss. Of course you may need an old fashioned paper phone book to look up the phone numbers of the power company or your neighbors, but I'm sure you have one stowed somewhere.. right?Corded is also good if you want a bit more security against evesdropping or accidental cross talk.Overall seems to be a good choice if you want a decent desk/speaker phone with answering machine and cordless option. Box states made in Malaysia except charger which is made in China. See pictures.

Pretty Good
Overall, the phone seems to work well. Unfortunately, the speaker phone is not as good as the 8 year old Panasonic KX-TG2237. I use the speaker phone function all the time at work. As soon as I changed phones the folks on the other end asked what happened. They told me that the old phone sounded perfect whereas the new phone sounded like I was in a box. In other words, with the new phone they knew I was on speaker. I decided to give the old phone a good cleaning and keep in on my desk. I installed the new phone at home. Family is very happy with it.

Noise filter needed
Corded headset has tremendous feedback, even though was plugged into a DSL filter that has worked on all other phones. Panasonic customer service says this phone is different, and needs a "noise filter." Part is $1.06 plus $7shipping. HOWEVER, after nearly an hour on the phone and online on this issue, it turns outs that the "noise filter" part is not in stock, and has to be backordered, with an estimated three-week wait. In the meantime, we have a new phone that is useless.

This phone is great. Very easy to to install
I needed a phone in my kitchen and decided to buy this Panasonic answering machine. This phone is great. Very easy to to install. One of the best features is the call block, I have no more annoying calls. The corded handset works during a power outage, Talking caller ID is loud and clear, easy to use, easy to see, amplified receiving volume, and you can program this phone to your preference. I can use the cordless phone in every room and outside with great clarity. It has wide display with white backlight, big buttons with backlight, side volume key and more features. My family is very happy with this product.

Panasonic KX-TG4771B...... Meh
I've had the Panasonic KX-TG4771B phone for a while, and as I've had occasion to use it more and more, I find I like it less and less. The corded part seems to work all right, but the cordless handset isn't much. It 'works,' but according to those with whom I'm speaking, it works poorly. Poor sound quality when the person at the other end can hear me at all. If I switch to the corded phone, everything seems fine. Hmm. Think I'll be switching phones when the opportunity presents itself. In the meantime, going to move the corded phone to the studio, and maybe put the cordless handset in the recycling bin. If the corded phone ends up being as problematic as the cordless, I'll report back. Thanks for reading. 10/6/17
