Great product!
I’ve been using this cable for like 6 years. I also own several other adapters, including 5 different hd adapters which use the lightning port or usb c.I LOVE this cable. I do not take it out to play live gigs, but I use this pretty much exclusively when practicing at home. Sounds great, easy to use, works with all the apps I’ve tried, even someAndroid apps (which I only tried to see what would happen), and have used on many different iPhones and iPads. I can’t say enough good things about the quality to cost of this cable. It has made my practicing way more convenient for line six years now.

This thing is awesome
Exactly what you need to write songs without pissing off everyone else in the house. The ishred app is lame, but the cable works great with garage band azpp fro the iphone. I used this as a patch from my pre amp output to the iphone through Garage Band's clean channel 65 bassman amp mod. Sounded great. If your a musician and song writer, this is perfect for you to lay down tracks with cool distortion, and record the tracks and send to the rest of the band. If your just someone who wants to jam out, this will be your new obsession!

This actually works on garage band
I bought this for 25 dollars and i guess price went up, so the sound quality is what i expected from it, its not a monster but it does do what you ask it to do interface it with your ipad. The ishred app is a free app and the thing you have to buy are the effects, this is good for tuning your guitar, and shockingly it works with the garage band app, might have to turn down the presence on the amplifier setting on garage band to avoid feed back but this works great! Cheap and affordable don't really need apogee jam unless you have 100 dollars to spend then i say go for it, but for a musician on a budget or a beginner trying to make use of your ipad, ipod or iphone this is the cable for you.

Works Great with GarageBand
I wanted a simple way to hook my guitar up to my mac and/or iPad and this was the answer. I cannot speak for Amplink or any of the other apps out there, but if you want an easy adapter for GarageBand, this setup works great. It interfaces well with my system and allows me to practice, and learn without having to spend an enormous amount on stomp boxes and amps. I know you cannot compare to the real thing, but for someone like me who is learning, this is a great tool. Highly recommend for GarageBand users.

Unusable for Android versions before Lollipop and very noisy. Only works well with later Samsung phones and Android 5.x.
Very noisy. I was disappointed that the current version of Android is too slow to work without a terrible latency (to the point of being unusable). Lollipop is supposed to fix that, but it's not been released for my phone (Samsung Note 3) yet. I finally just bought Focusrite Scalett to connect my guitar to a DAW and Amplitube 3 on my desktop computer. Would still love to have a suitable mobile solution (without having to buy an iPhone). It does work better on my iPad, but it is still noisy. Digital iRigs are reportedly the best.Update: I updated to Lollipop on my Note 3. Andrig no longer runs, but if you download Amplitube from the Samsung store, it works. There is a very small amount of latency, but not enough to be disorienting. You can only use Amplitube on Samsung phones because of the Samsung Pro Audio on the *later* devices (Note 3, 4, S5, S6). I notice that there is an irigHD-A digital interface for android too. It's a $100. Oh, and this cable still sucks because it's very noisy, but at least I know the software can work on my Note 3 with Android 5.x.

Works with Garage Band for iPad!
Bought this on a whim, thinking it was time to dust off the Telecaster since living in close quarters in an urban environment was holding me back from guitar playing. After spending a few additional bucks at the App Store for my iPhone and iPad I soon had the functionality of all those expensive pedals and that old 4-track i bought years ago - and more. There are competing products which are more portable at 2 or 3 times the price but for me this this thing works great for the casual guitar player.

Doesn't Work with iPhone 4
I've tried two of these, and my iPhone 4 doesn't recognize that an input device is plugged in. After a bunch of trial and error, and some very precise measurements, I found that by shimming the plug by about 0.22mm (thickness of a business card), the device is recognized. In this configuration there is an unacceptable level of static. I presume this is due to the less-than-perfect fit. Now, I don't know if the phone's headphone/mic jack is out of spec, or if this cable is. But it doesn't really matter to me, the cable is useless in any case.Griffin support offered to mail me a new cable if cut the old one up and sent them a picture. (I'm not making that up.) I have no reason to think another cable off the same line will work, so i'm just going to return it.A real disappointment.

Good but not as good as irig
The desing is excellent, good funtionability, buy is has a little problems managing impedance, when you get the volume of your guitar up sometimes it gets distorted, i like the cable is long and the headphone jack is near the guitar plug, and you dont need aditional guitar cable to connect you guitar its like plug an play!
