great for creating or repairing 3D prints (maybe - see update to this review)
Great 3D pen. Purchased to do minor repairs and tweaks to prints off our Rostock Max V2 printer. Right out of the box, my 15 year old son was making things and used it to "plastic weld" two PLA printed parts together. Works great for PLA and ABS, but have not tried other materials yet. Chose this one after reading review of various pens and watching numerous Youtube video reviews.***UPDATE***: have had the pen for 4 days, son went to use it this morning and pen will not feed filament. motor operates, but not gripping filament. can push filament all the way through pen, so there is no blockage. have emailed manufacturer and awaiting response. will update again after this is resolved.

It was good at first
It was good at first. Then the extruder got clogged and after following all trouble shooting instructions I explained to scribbler and they sent me a new extruder. So I give them points for customer service on that but then rinse and repeat. The second nozzle got clogged. Then the third. At some point it becomes too much of a hassle to continue contacting customer service to get new nozzles and by the third one the whole pen was starting to act up with the digital display going on and off and the pen failing to even initiate heating up anyway. I followed all instructions and temperatures and troubleshooting methods and I'm not totally new to 3d printing and pens so I really don't think it was user error. Also, the extruder is extremely hard to get in place. You have to line up the pins to attach it to the pen totally blind because you can't see the pins while trying to plug them in. Ultimately it ended up in my craft graveyard and replaced by a different 3d pen because it was just too much of a hassle.

fun for arts and crafts with the kids
The scribbler 3d pen is a fun little gadget. It jams up sometimes and you have to take it sort and pull the inside feed tube out to unjam it.But other than that it was fun to play with before I gave it away as a gift, and ordered a more professional 3d pen.The more professional pen that I ordered was the Lix Pen.The scibbler is mad of plastic and has a thicker more bulky body style which leads to a loss of finer movement when creating a piece, this is good for arts and crafts day at school. The Lix Pen is thin like a pencil and made of light weight aluminum, something that you would use at work to rough out idea's quickly to show the basics or even full on working pieces.

Fantastic 3D pen
Ok, first off this is my first 3D pen and Ive had it for 48 hrs. This thing is awesome. I purchased it for my 7 year old daughter because of the Legend of Zelda tree video on YouTube that we saw, lol. That video was like staring into a fire. Super cool. The pen is extremely East to use and did exactly what we asked everytime and I have roughly 5 hrs of usage with it. As far as the other reviews about it clogging up I have yet to have that happen but I have disassembled it already just to make sure Im ready if it ever happens. And it is very easy to take a part. The pen is very quiet, noise wasn't an issue what so ever. Thank God it's pretty self explanatory on how to use the pen because the instructions are really vague. We just set the temp to 175 degree. I'm confused on one thing though. I'm pretty sure it has auto feed, which makes it 10x more comfortable, because I accidentally activated it once for about two minutes. The problem is I don't know how I did it and haven't been able to do it since. Amazon had a sale on the purple one for $69 which in my opinion make this a steal. I would definitely purchase this again at $69.

Serious Artist's Tool
This is a great pen. I have tried another 3D pen and the additional controls of temp., speed and ABS or PLA are super useful. The piece in my photo is 3 ft. tall and many hours. My other pen didn't last long enough to finish one previous piece and it was less than half this size. This is the 3D pen to get.

Awsome figures!
Got for daughter for her birthday. She is having fun learning to use it. She loves the 6 speeds and back up feature. You don't have to lose several inches of plastic when you want to change colors. And different speeds are needed for different projects. There are also 2 temp settings which are adjustable for different materials. Her hand does get tired but it is definitely more ergonomic than others I have seen. Great present but you must have patience to learn to use it. You will not be perfect right at the start.

Wonderful creativity device
Wonderful creativity device, especially for making organic-looking things. Easy and clear to use with the display and control buttons. I like to draw onto paper and have a paper towel nearby for wiping. I turned the temperature down to 165 degrees Celsius for working with PLA, and that seemed to work for me.Only get one of these if you know what use you would have for your creations. I finally got a 3D printing pen because I can draw things for my miniature scenes using it instead of trying to work around baking 3D Fimo.Pictured is the second item I drew with the pen. It was really fun drawing the branches in the air.

This is way better than the 3Doodler (I also own one) and it ...
YASSSS!! This is way better than the 3Doodler (I also own one) and it is much faster and has whole coils of plastic. It took a little while to get the hang of, but it explains everything in the instructions. You will want to get an extra pack of the filament, but that isn't very much. There are six different speeds that range from very fast to slow, unlike the 3Doodler, where there are only two very slow speeds. I would definitely recommend, and if I were looking for one just for me, I would do some research on youtube or something, though.
