I first bought one of these kettles several years ago. Even my husband, who thought it was a silly purchase, came to love it!I’m sure that it has saved my house from burning down from a kettle left on the stove many times over!!When the very top button on the lid broke off, I had no hesitation in buying almost the same exact model again.I like that you can see through the glass exactly how much water is left in the pot, and it is fairly easy to clean even if you cannot submerge it.I would definitely recommend this kettle to anyone!

Worked perfectly for 4 years of winter use only then just suddenly died. The light still comes on though.

I love this water kettle- my first one started to be a little finicky after 5 years of regular use, so I bought an exact replacement. I really love the glass- its easy to see how much water there is, how clean it is, and no metal or plastic taste changes the water. The kettle heats up very quickly, which is the other reason I come back to this one. The design of having the heating element in the water rather than just the flat bottom really speeds it up (my parents had a Hamilton Beach kettle with a flat bottom, and they eventually replaced it with one of these).I only used filtered water in the pot (via a faucet mounted filter) and descale it as needed by heating up vinegar inside. Works like a charm and is super fast and easy. I usually will heat and empty another full pot of water before I'm ready to use it again. Vinegar-tea is not something I want to ever try.If you are rough with it or have extremely heavy use, well- you get out of it what you put into it. Its designed (and priced) to be replaced every few years, and that window can shorten if its not treated right or you just need to use it a lot more.Its unobtrusive on my very small countertop, tucking nicely into a corner, and looking very attractive.

Sad to say the quality of this kettle has deteriorated over the years. This is the fourth of these kettles that I have bought in 20 years. Originally it had a black plastic handle and lid. The previous kettle I bought had changed to a metallic silver colored handle and lid. The trouble is that the metallic finish is a thin laminate over plastic. Since steam comes out of the spout, over time it separates the metallic laminate from the base. So the metal flakes off (hopefully not into the hot water you are pouring). The plain black plastic lid was fine but they had to 'improve' it.The latest kettle came with a lid so stiff that it took two hands to force it open. Enormous resistance. I suspected it would break off in a short while so I sent it back and have been refunded.In its original days this was an elegant and innovative design. But manufacturing quality has deteriorated. Today there are better choices.

I’ve had electric kettles for years because I’m a tea drinker. If all the kettles I’ve owned, this is by far my favorite. It’s quick, easy to clean and great features. Get it.

Our extended family has owned three or four of these over the past 8 years or so... all worked very well but just wore out as one would expect in a device that generates so much heat. Rating would be 5 stars if they lasted a bit longer and if not for the one fixable issue with the latest purchase. Until our latest one, we never had any of the 'bad odor' / 'bad taste' problems. A simple call to the manufacturer resulted in an explanation of the problem and a solution. The odor/taste comes from the rubber gasket material sealing the heating element under the stainless dome inside the pot. Unless you want to fight through cleaning of one of the pots with an exposed element, that dome and seal can't be avoided. The solution suggested by the manufacturer was to fill the pot with lemon juice, covering the dome... let it soak 15 minutes, then rinse and run through 2 pots of boiling water. Worked like a charm... odor and taste are gone. One other thing they suggested was to not let water stand in the pot for extended periods... took that as more than an hour or so.

It is nice to have a glass design to make sure the hard water deposits are cleaned up in timely fashion. My old stainless design worked great but was not able to see the buildup well and it was not as easy to clean. This unit turns off automatically and has a blue light indicator but it is easy to accidentally turn it on. I wish it was a bit less sensitive here.

This product was purchased on February 17, 2021 through Amazon. I registered the warranty with the manufacturer. - when I received the kettle. The kettle ceased to work yesterday. I called the Manufacturer and they told me that I had to contact Amazon, the retailer, if I wanted to have the kettle replaced. If I ship to them for replacement I will have to pay the shipping costs and any duty incurred. This would be very expensive for me to ship it back to the US. I am asking if Amazon will replace the kettle for me at no charge.

We are now on the 3rd Capresso kettle, the first two both eventually broke down in the same manner. First the stainless steel cap fitted to the top came loose, the small amount of glue gave out. I was able to re-glue the piece and it lasted for some time until the entire top came off, the plastic holding the lid in place broke, I was unable to repair it, both machines died in this manner after a couple years so we bought another one. I have my doubts the new one will last as long due to the design changes. They have now replaced the stainless or chrome metal pieces with plastic, this has "cheapened" the kettle's look and probably it's longevity. We will probably not buy this product again.

This was a terrific little kettle. It heated up water quickly and was easy to use. I like having the glass instead of stainless steel. But this morning it stopped working. Less than a year after I purchased it. A waste of good money. Unacceptable.

Purchased in March 2019, it has worked without problem until today 24 Dec 2020. It has now failed, light is on, so I know the power is going through it, but the heater element is dead. 22 months it lasted. I've taken the bottom off, nothing to repair or reset that I can see. Must be the heater element has burnt out. Unlike other reviewers the handle and lid were never a problem. Only 1 year warranty - so guess i am out of luck. I thought by spending $99 instead of one of the cheaper $60 - $70 kettles I would be getting 5 years out of it. Off to do some investigation into quality kettles that last.

It came in horrible shape. Looks like it was already burnt out and it was. Didn't work. Super annoyed. I can't locate the photos I toll of it but horrible. Not sure how this even got sent out!!!
