Solution to wind shut-off problem
As other reviewers have mentioned, this unit shuts off in the slightest breeze. Since I live in Maui, which has some of the best wind in the world, this has kind of sucked. After too many cold baths, I took the thing apart to see if there was some way to hack it and make it more wind-proof. I couldn't believe the solution. It turns out there's a thermostat on the outgoing water line that turns down the propane flow when the water gets hot. Once that happens, the wind kills the flame. (Yes, you read that correctly. When this water heater detects that it is heating water, it turns itself down.) I cut the white wires to the thermostat and spliced them together, and now the thing stays on through a hurricane.

So far it is a great water heater. Makes very hot water.
UPDATE 5/9/17 So far it works great it don't shut off ever 20 min and have to be shut off and back on like other brands. I have so far used it to fill a 150 gallon small pool 4 or 5 times it takes about a hr or so to get it filled at low flow. But it is nice and hot. I am pretty sure the drips from the unit are just condensation from the cold water input. I have a pump comeing today I plan on filling my pool and adding little chlorine so won't change water but once a week or so. And adding it to my smart things so I don't have to heat it all the time. About a hr or so before I get off work I can turn it on. Will probley put a thermostat on it to do I can set the temp. Bottom line is so far it works great. Whether it's for a nice hot shower, a nice hot bath, or using it for homemade hot tub so far is work perfect for all above for me.I just changed my rating to five stars now only time will tell how it holds up. OriginalOk I may have to exchange it and may not getting some drips from unit during use . But it may just be condensation. Will use it a while to make sure worst case I will exchange it for another one . That aside it will make scalding hot water all depends on the water flow. I have filled up about a 3 foot kitty fo it will make scalding hot water all depends on the water flow. I have filled up about a 3 foot kitty pool And it's just as hot as a hot tub. I will use it to make my redneck hot tub. For all the reviews they say it does not get hot enough to take a shower just do not know how to use it right Like i said in the beginning it all has to do with water flow. I have scalding hot water almost to the point of boiling coming out of it directly from my water house I would suggest to put a additional valve on the water output To control the flow when you do this you can have the water as hot or cold as you want it. I will change my review to five stars when I know for sure if it's leaking or not If i had to return it for a new one . But more than likely at this point I think it's just condensation. Oh and as far as it blowing out with the wind I have not had a problem yet but I will say it has to do with the flu. I would recommend putting exhaust on it with a cap The right size. But long story short LOL don't let the other reviews for you this will get too hot to touch it has burnt my leg twice already. Oh one more thing the water hose water I tack and the shower hose broke in 5 min. So replace the hose and the water hose hookup adapter they are way to cheep. Won't last at all.

Works great as a secondary hot tub heater with a 10 PSI sump pump.
I bought this to increase the heating capacity of our hot tub. It works well, this heater alone is roughly equal to a 20kw heater, our hot tub heater is 5.5kw, so we get about 5x faster rate of temperature rise. I was worried because the heater states it needs 25 psi minimum, I'm using a 1/5 hp sump pump rated 25' head (~10 psi) and the heater works fine. At roughly 2.7 gallons per min, temperature rise measured was 32 deg F. With this heater, and the 5.5 kw heater built into our hot tub (25kw or 85kBTU), we should be able to heat 300 gallons @ 35 deg per hour.

I LOVE this thing.
I love, love, love, LOVE this thing. Seriously one of the best purchases I've ever made. The water is HOT and lasts as long as the gas does, which in our case was 12 showers a weekend for three months. The water pressure is very good (probably because we have the 10 gallon rather than the five) and the hose is plenty long enough to wash several kids at once, as we do. Assembly was easy and while the dials seemed a little confusing, we caught on pretty quick -- my eight year old figured it out before I did. I read that the gas can blow out, but we didn't have that problem. However, we hung it in an 6x8, 7-foot-tall outdoor stall, not on a tree as some people have. There is a bit of gas odor if you're standing close to it, but as I said, the hose is long enough that you can easily avoid it.

the unit preformed better than I imagined it would
Everything was packaged neat and all parts were included. Unit was bought for a outdoor shower in the mountains. Let me say that I am a 49yo who is very hard to impress and fed up with "made in China". Once the unit was unpacked and a few fittings attached, batteries installed, and hooked up to a water hose and propane tank, the unit preformed better than I imagined it would. It fired off immediately with no hesitation. With the the water setting at full volume, the heat less than half, and on the high setting, the temperature of the water would be sufficient for most people's comfort. The water pressure is strong and the supplied shower head seems to work as well as one would expect. If you set the unit opposite and turn the water volume to low and the temperature setting on high, you will not be able to hold your hand under the water flow more than a second without possibility of injury. I cycled the shower on and off several times and the unit fired every time with no issues. The unit was hooked to a residential outdoor hose bib so my description of strong pressure was based on normal residential water pressure, I would assume that later in the winter when I attach a 3gpm 12volt pump to a water catchment tank the unit should be very close to what I experienced attached to residential plumbing. I can only hope that it will continue to work as well as it dose brand new.

BEST HEATER EVER!
This heater was a life saver! We lived outside in a shed for 5 months while our home was being built and use this heater in the shower house we built. From May-Sept 2016 we used it daily for showers, filled livestock tub for baths, and did our dishes and it worked great every time. Only blew out once from strong gust of wind but reignited immediately. We plan to move the "shower house" to our campsite in the woods now that we are in our home.
