DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I should have listened to the other bad reviews. I placed the product on my bday card, recorded my message, then cut the wire that is for recording, as it says to do, so your recording doesn’t get recorded over. Yeah...NO. My message was gone ... and it just kept beeping and recording. Such a waste of money, and very disappointing. Just wanted to give my mom a heartfelt message on her bday card! Ugh! Oh, and couldn’t remove the item from the card, or it would have ripped it. Guess that’s something .... it stays stuck to the card... too bad it didn’t matter, as its junk.

Lots of uses and lots of fun
It is a 26-second sound playback device that you can hide/install in anything you can think of for a surprise.It can be some eerie sound to scare someone, a personalized greeting card, or even an alarm.The nice thing about this unit is that it is complete with batteries and microphone, so it can be used immediately.It even comes on a double-sided tape so that it can be mounted. However, they do not provide a way to mount the switches and you need to provide small screws or adhesive. You could actually not use the switch for playback and instead install a photo resister to actuate on light, if desired.Hold down the record button until a double-beep is heard, then start recording. Release to stop recording and it will playback for verification. Press the play button to playback. Playback continues to the end and there is no way to stop it in the middle.The sound quality is poor due to the very small speaker. You can provide your own speaker if needed.The three batteries are apparently not meant to be replaced. It can be done if tabs are bent back and batteries carefully slid out the side.
