The Guild D-260E is a GREAT Guitar and GREAT Value!
Background: I’ve been playing guitar for over 30 years and have played for 1000’s in YoungLife/youth ministries, churches and small venues. I’m not a professional musician, yet I play about every day. I own about 10 guitars from the $200 price range to the $3500 range. My first loves are my Martin's.I’ve always admired Guild for their quality and playing ability, yet it took me till now to purchase one. I saw a D-240 in a retail store and picked it up just by chance to show my 13yr old daughter the difference in sound from a $2500 Martin guitar and a $450 Guild. Well, I was totally caught off-guard with the ease of play and very solid sound of that Guild. My daughter couldn’t tell the difference between the two and although I could, the difference wasn’t that incredible. Soooo...I was on the hunt for one and saw a great deal on the D-260E online! From its incredibly easy playing neck, to solid yet not-too boomy bass and even midrange, I was smitten with this one. It’s very well made and aesthetically very pleasing to the eye - ebony back and sides and you just can’t beat the headstock shape and look. Like another reviewer gushed, it’s just a beautiful guitar. No, it’s not a mid/upper end guitar, yet it plays like something more than twice it’s cost and overall is a VERY good deal. I repeat, VERY good deal. My only Guild has taken the mantle and is on a stand beside my bed.Great sound, beautiful look and I’m not worried about my 4 year old wanting to play it with her Dada. :-)
