Great, like new, refub
This unit arrived very quickly, well packaged and with all cabling and instructions. It looks like a new unit. My motherboard went out in my old unit so all I had to do was plug in the existing cables, set the clock and start watching. I like this unit because of the circuitry that upgrades the video image and utilizes an HDMI cable to deliver the signal. Very well pleased with the transaction and the unit. I did buy the additional 2 year warranty for a very reasonable price, realizing that units like this are becoming "dinosaurs" in the electronics world. I did not comment on tech support because I did not require it.

I got this for my brother. Having had one ages ago, I was glad to find it. Dependable.

Arrived damaged and disfunctional
Took a chance on a refurbished item. It was advertised as unblemished from a distance, but the case was obviously damaged and the case cover was reattached misaligned. This resulted in the VCR portion of the unit being difficult to load or eject tapes. The VCR drive was very noisy, not sure if that was related to the misaligned case or not. The DVD door would not close after the tray retracted into the machine without manual assistance. The DVD open/close button frequently became stuck and unusable because of the case misalignment making the remote the only way to open and close the DVD tray. Had it been better refurbished/serviceable, it seemed like a nice unit. Returned without too much trouble and bought a very similar unit (Toshiba DVR670) in new condition. Much happier with a new unit rather than with a rebuilt one.

Great piece of equipment
I bought one of these units inn 2017 and have used it lots! I was having some problems due to lots of usebut got it working again. Meanwhile, I found a refurbished unit and bought another one just like it..Easy to use, good quality, wouldn't buy anything else!

Looked like it was new, but it wouldn't listen to the remote
Everything was clean and accessories were included.But this is twice in a row that the device would not work with a remote control.I tried several for this device, and it didn't seem to listen to any of them.Their testing needs to include using a remote control, or you'll keep getting these expensive returns!Returning this unit.
