Color:Clear The TOGGLER Toggle TC commercial drywall anchor provides a firm hold in 5/8"- to 3/4"-thick drywall, includes #8 x 1-3/4" screws, and is made in USA. The anchor is made from polypropylene that resists corrosion, is nonconductive for anchoring electrical components, and is low-friction to facilitate screw installation. The anchor hammers into a 5/16" drilled hole until flush with the mounting material's surface. Before the screw can be inserted into the anchor to create a secure hold, the included key is used to open the anchor's wings behind the material. The fins on the anchor head grip the mounting material to prevent spinning when a screw is inserted, and the anchor will stay in place if the fastener is removed, facilitating fixture and screw changes. If using screws other than those supplied, the anchor accepts #6 to #14 size screws with a minimum thread length of 1-1/2". The Toggle TC anchor meets Federal Specification FF-B-588-D for Type IV anchors.SpecificationsUltimate Tensile Strength ValuesAnchorDrill DiameterScrew Description1/4" Plywood1/2" Plywood3/8" Drywall1/2" Drywall5/8" DrywallTA5/16"#8 x 1-1/4"124 lb.Not applicableNot applicableNot applicableNot applicableTB5/16"#8 x 1-1/2"Not applicable175 lb.97 lb.143 lb.Not applicableTC5/16"#8 x 1-3/4"Not applicableNot applicableNot applicableNot applicable159 lb.Ultimate Shear Strength ValuesAnchorDrill DiameterScrew Description1/4" Plywood3/8" Drywall1/2" Drywall5/8" DrywallTA5/16"#8 x 1-1/4"265 lb.Not applicableNot applicableNot applicableTB5/16"#8 x 1-1/2"Not applicable126 lb.167 lb.Not applicableTC5/16"#8 x 1-3/4"Not applicableNot applicableNot applicable237 lb.Warning: Use one-fourth or less of listed maximum values for safe working loads (as required by local regulations). Good for when a wall stud is unavailable
I find these to be the best when you are unable to get to a stud in the wall. The types you just insert into the wall always pull out on me either immediately or gradually over time. I first found these at Home Depot several years ago but buy them on Amazon now as it's cheaper than locally. You just need to make sure you know what thickness sheetrock/wall board you have beforehand or else they may not flip out and lock. Once these go in the only way to remove them is by drilling them out which is pretty easy since they are plastic.Lastly once these are properly installed they are secure and you don't have to worry about them pulling out over time. I have used them to mount glass shelves, wooded shelves, etc and they are all still standing to this day.

Sturdy
These are the only thing that will work holding up heavy pictures, the sheetrock in my house is very wimpy!! Lol...true.

Does the job
Didn't know they made these togglers out of plastic until I read about them on a DIY web site. Needed something to anchor my double towel bar to a plaster wall in our bath and I found it. They recommend these for towel bars and it worked out just great after I installed it. Of course Amazon had them so I received the package within two days. My towel bar is now up and nice and secure. Easy as pie to use as the manufacturer also includes the pin to open and spread the toggle on the other side of the wall. Can't go wrong using these as they do really work. Plus so many (20) for such a small price and made in USA. Seeing the latter printed on the package made my day. Not China, India, but the USA.

Perfect
I use this type of drywall anchor all the time. They are strong and I never have to worry about their strength. Just be sure not to make the entrance hole too big.....start smaller than you think you'll need and enlarge if need be. Pinch the ends together and force the start then pound in and it'll be very secure.

Incredible product
These are sturdy and ideal for hanging heavier objects on drywall. I used regular hollow wall anchors to hang a pot rack in my kitchen. The whole mess fell down two hours later. I re-installed with these anchors and the rack remains steady two months later.

Good luck knocking your shelf down unless you plan on ...
Good luck knocking your shelf down unless you plan on taking the drywall with it. These anchors are great, much better than the hook-type anchors you usually see people using.

Good Anchor
Good anchor, better than the press in type for holding heavier items.
