Thule BSTK2 Bike Stacker , Black

I had two Allen racks that screw into the wall for my road bikes. We moved and I did not want to drill holes in the garage walls to mount the racks so I found the Thule Bike Stacker. It went together quickly and is very stable. The road bikes set close to the wall and stack easily. This is the best rack that I have found anywhere to safely store nice road bikes.

Very stable & sturdy - holds my two mountain bikes in a minimal amount of space. Easy to assemble, place and move. Adjustable arms work well. Only note - I used some heavy plastic sheet, like the kind that many christmas ornaments or (in my case) OXO coasters come in, cut to strips to avoid scarring the metal finish with the lock down screws in the arms. Overall an excellent rack at a good price.

We got these to hold our 2013 Specialized Myka 29er and 2014 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 29er. It fit both bikes without a lot of hassle. We would recommend having a friend help with the initial adjustments and such, since the arms can be difficult to adjust for the first time while holding the bike(s) in the air. Once set up, it is SUPER solid and doesn't move at all. One of our bikes is almost at the very top of the Stacker, and it has almost no movement back and forth or side to side. We put this in the dining room of our apartment (since we don't have a garage) on carpet, and it is still super stable and solid. It comes in a pretty small box, which makes you think it isn't that strong, but it is actually super strong. Again, get someone to help you get the holder arms adjusted the first time. Definitely going to be buying more Thule products in the future!

This is sturdy enough to get the job done. I'm certain that it will be fine over time as long as you have the arms tightened well enough on the back side. It certainly will not tip over if you follow the directions; put heavier of two bikes on bottom and push the bikes in as far as possible to balance weight. In that sense the review would suffice at least 4 if not 5 stars. 4 stars perhaps because it did take some time to put together.I gave it three stars, but the two star deduction is solely with my disappointment with Amazon. The bike rack I was sent was obviously sent back from another customer as you could tell the box was taped up again from a return. The real disappoint was the fact that the top half of the rack, which slides down on to the bottom half, was slightly bent and thus a full connection is not possible. This causes the rack to lean to the left a bit and it is clearly visible something is wrong. Obviously this was a return as someone else had placed it together, didn't like it for one reason or another and send it back. I'm no gum shoe, but with a major part bent and the box taped up it was returned from someone else.Since it took me an 1.5 hours to put together I decided to keep it as it serves it purposes. It is a bike rack and thus visually aesthetics isn't the core reason I purchased. I guess it speaks to Thule's quality if a major piece could be bent and it still remain sturdy to get the job done. Boo Amazon! Horray for Thule!

I bought this bike rack to keep our bikes organized and out of the way and in this role the bike rack performs well. The frame is well designed and is sturdy on a carpeted floor. The arms are easily adjusted and seem to hold securely. You will need a wrench to tighten the bolts when assembling the frame as tools are not included in the box. The Bike Stacker is easy to assemble and took me about 10 minutes to complete. Some of the other reviews mention rust being an issue if this bike holder is kept in a humid environment and I agree that this could be an issue. The paint on the frame doesn't seem very durable as there were several chips with exposed metal that could be a problem if the unit were kept outdoors. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

I just received and set up my rack. After reading all the reviews I was sold, easy to assemble, durable, adjustable, well constructed and engineered . . . what more could you ask for right? How about steel tubing that doesn't distort and collapse when you hand tighten the support arms. Please keep in mind that I am a small woman (120 #'s soaking wet) and not a physically strong person by any definition of the word. Also when tightening the knob to secure the support arm it has a strong tendency to twist out and away from the rack towards the removal position versus in tighter toward the center. Had it been tapped and used a reversed style thread pattern from traditional would have made more sense. I really expected better from Thule than this, I have their "Swing-Daddy" hitch rack and love it. This one is most likely going back in the box and getting returned so I can get something more durable and better engineered.

I ordered this because it fulfilled what I wanted in a bike rack AND for the Thule name. They have a good reputation. I received the rack today and was first disappointed with the packing job. It was just two boxes, one just slid over the other. Not even taped. Then I proceeded to unpack it to find that the major structural support for the bottom was missing. It was packaged as though someone just threw it in a box. One of the main upright pieces was also bent. Wait, there's more! Upon inspection of the "Thule" sticker at the top of the rack I noticed something underneath. It was the printing of another brand!!! It says "Sportrack" underneath! I looked into it and Thule bought Sportrack in 2006. Regardless, this is false advertising. Also, Amazon sells the same exact rack under the Sportrack name for $35 cheaper!!! I am fuming about this. I requested a refund and UPS is coming back to pick it back up at some point. I order a lot of stuff form Amazon and the transactions are usually seamless. All parties really dropped the ball on this one. Guess my bikes are going to stay on the floor for a little longer. Needed vertical storage for two bikes due to limited space.This delivered in spades. Solid, adjustable and stylish.

Rather painful installation. As someone who does not have strong upper arms, I found the process of getting the upper bike arms just-so was very frustrating, as it required lots of up/down maneuvering of my mountain bike above my shoulders. But now the arms are set it should be okay. Also, I found it a bit tricky to install the screws in the base, but managed. I am glad to be able to lock my bike to something in my apartment, and I am glad to have a stand which organizes my bikes better (1 x all mountain, 1 x downhill), is sturdy and which stands on its own (no tension rods against the ceiling, no holes in the wall). Would recommend to friends as a bike storage option to consider.
