Perfect size for a cheesecake to serve 6-8.
I now have 4 Kaiser Noblesse springform pans - 7, 8, 9, and 10". I added this 7" pan to the collection to make 2/3 recipe of my favorite pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving - one of those occasions where high school geometry comes in handy to calculate the volume of the pan. Yes, I know one can add water and measure the volume that way, but using those hard-earned math skills was more fun. The sides of these pans always remove cleanly and smoothly, they bake evenly, and the cheesecake can be easily removed from the pan bottom by gently loosening with a long flat spatula or sliding the bottom of a round tart pan under it. It can then be transferred to a prettty serving plate. No springform pan is 100% leakproof when you have so much butter in your crust, so I do wrap in heavy-duty foil but do not use a water bath.

Not an 8 inch pan....
I ordered and received a variety of 8 inch springform pans from Amazon to test out different brands, etc. I was very disappointed that this Kaiser pan is NOT a true 8 inch pan. It is clearly smaller than the other 8 inch pans in my order and upon measuring it, I discovered the inside diameter to be barely over 7 inches. The BASE-which comes up over the outside of the pan ring-measures 8 inches. I need an 8 inch cake for shipping purposes, so I will return this and try the Kaiser 9 inch in hopes that if it measures like this one, I will actually get an 8 inch cake.

Not an 8 inch pan
Regarding the 8 inch pan, the diameter of the top, which corresponds to the diameter of the cake you're making, is approximately 7.5 inches. This is strange, because I have a 9 inch Kaiser springform pan that is 9 inches in diameter at the top. When a recipe calls for an 8 inch springform, this pan will be too small.

Leaks....but I'll still use it.....
I was excited to try the pan right away.....to do a cheesecake in my electric pressure cooker. The pan does leak, but I put foil around the bottom of it as soon as I discovered that and the cake turned out fine. I will use the pa since it fits very nicely in my Cuisinart 6 qt. pressure cooker. I just will have to remember to put foil around the bottom before I put batter into the pan. (That is why I couldn't give it 5 stars.)

Wouldn't Pay The Asking Price Again
Over rated and expensive. Several lesser priced versions do just as well. I've never had a superior performance result with this product. But I've never had a terrible one either. It just isn't worth the price difference when the performance is just so so.

Much better than all other spring forms offered
I was initially disappointed because this form was not at all like my other Kaiser forms. The difference between La Forme plus and Noblesse is about 25 Dollars a pan and Noblesse is cheaper and thinner and not as durable but it is properly constructed and will do a great job. I poured water in it and it leaked the tiniest bit which I can live with since I never "bake water". When I use it for cheese cake in a bain marie I will just use extra large heavy duty tinfoil to keep it dry since I have not found a totally leak proof spring form. Cheese cakes baked in a water bath sure turn out better than just sticking them in the oven.

Excellent springform pan.
Kaiser has 3 different levels of these springform pans. This is the "mid-level" quality/price pan. I have several of these and they're excellent. They have a smooth bottom (as opposed to textured) and a good straight bottom edge. These pans have superior design. The latches are very good and sturdy. These types of pans are not quite "water-tight"; No springforms are. You have to wrap them in tin-foil to keep water out if you use a ban-marrie. I expect that with any spring-form pan. I highly recommend this model/series - I get professional results every time.Tip: Use real butter and butter them up liberally.

Awesome Pan!!!
Yes this pan is a bit pricy than other springform pans but it is worth it! I love this pan because it is durable, has a great seal -it doesn't leak butter in my oven when I make cheesecakes and the bottom the pan is flat and does not have a proferated bottom which I hate. My cheesecakes slides out easily and effortlessly out of the pan. I highly recommend this pan and seller. Great transaction!
