New "go to" brand?
Excellent service and communications from seller. Bought the computer to replace a Dell XPS that died twice in three years. The last failure just out of warranty, naturally. This unit seems well put together and was easy to set up. Never has a Lenovo before, so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

Lemon, BEWARE
Bought one of these several months ago for clients. I'm a tech and consultant and have been for 13 years. I almost always recommend Lenovo systems to my clients and have never gone wrong doing so until this machine. They used it with no problems whatsoever for a couple months then it began the "Blue Screen of Death". I was able to trace that crash to the video driver. So I simply downloaded a newer driver from the Intel website and once more it worked for a few days then, the dreaded BSOD again. I ended up loading all sorts of drivers, installing a PCI-ex Nvidia card as a work-around, I did basically everything in the book to troubleshoot and correct this trouble. It turned out there were a small number of people who owned this machine had the same trouble so I contacted Lenovo support. I'm going to drop a lot of long winded recounting of all the nonsense their Support did when it was clear they needed to exercise the warranty and replace the machine. But they put in new motherboards, processors, I installed a new hard drive at their insistence then tried to re-install the OS using their own software and that was just another nightmare, it took me 4 tries before it stopped Blue Screening. At this point, the damn machine was blue screening on so many things I couldn't keep track of them all. Clearly this was one fouled up machine that could not be repaired. In all my years I have never had such troubles with any computer I've worked on but this model running 7 pro took the bloody cake. After the nonsense I went through with a clearly unprepared support dept makes me want to stop buying Lenovos but on the other hand, perhaps they put their efforts on their products running right in the first place because as I said, Lenovo just doesn't seem to much care if you need them to send you a new computer since the one you paid good money for refuses to work. Their support is obviously set up to wear down the poor owners of such irresolvable cases until they give up. My clients have now dispatched a full recounting of this mess to the CA dept. of consumer affairs, the CEO of Lenovo and the North American CEO. They are going to get a heckuva an eyeful because we are totally in the right here and Lenovo clearly is not. I am out dozens and dozens of unpaid hours, my clients are out $600 and I am going to have to make that good for them since I recommended the machine and my ethics won't allow me to walk away from it. So, beware and if you buy a Lenovo, pray you don't get a machine like this model turned out to be because it will be a real exercise in getting it stuck to you.

don't buy this computer!
I got this computer because I thought it had a good processor for a low price, and it had 5 star reviews! So I wanted to write a review to save other people. This computer is super slow even to open the start menu! It's slow and jumpy and will not even smoothly run two simple programs at one time. It's a piece of junk. Don't buy this computer!
