Lovely
Lovely pair of headphones bought to replace a super cheapy controller that was very low quality. You get what you pay for this time. Not sure why the big discount (or if it is one of the MSRP fake discounts) but good reviews on the uk amazon site too. Also the controller works well, it changes the volume on the phone (and doesn't just change the volume on the headphones with an inline resistor like the cheap units do) Definitely liking it thus far. Comes with what looks like a little adapter so you can plug it into a normal mini-stero out (vs the phone which has the extra stuff for the mic) but haven't tried it out yet.

Great buy, great headphones, but not AMAZING
These are great headphones, especially for the price, but not as amazing as some of the reviews say. I guess I'm an audiophile and didn't realize it, but i've come to realize I'm pretty picky about the sound from my headphones. I think it's happened since owning a pair of Klipschs. They were amazing headphones, however my cat got to them, and, well, you can guess what happened and why I searched for a new pair. I find myself wearing through my headphones every year and a half so I wanted to find a pair that had amazing reviews and everything I wanted. What I like about the SoundMAGICs: Love the placement of the microphone. The Klipsch's microphone was further down in the center, and i'd have to hold it up to use it. I also like the amount of ear buds that come with the SoundMAGICs. The sound is very good, but just not as full as with the Klipschs. What I don't like about the SoundMAGICs: The buds don't fit very well in your ear and fall out pretty easily. I've tried multiple size buds as well to see if small/larger would make a more snug fit, and it's the shape of the whole earpiece that isn't working. Again, they're not awful, i've just have better fitting. In all, for the price, these really are pretty fantastic headphones. If you're looking for amazing, I'd check out Klipsch. But if you're looking for really good and a GREAT buy, these should be your choice.

Out of this world
Never heard of sound magic before I saw them on Amazon. Wanted headphones for my new Ipod and didnt want big/bulky ones. Wanted something in-the-ear that fitted comfortably, sounded fantastic and didnt cost a fortune. Well I found them. Sound quality is excellent - very clear, no distortion, no ambient noise. They fit snug thanks to the selection of ear-bud attachements. They come well packaged and have a nice case with holds them and my ipod well. Was oringally going to buy a pair of Sony/Philips/JVC etctec =- so glad i fouind these and had the patience to wait for them. All in all a fantastic buy - i even bought a second pair.

In Limbo
**UPDATE 7/15—The right earbud stopped working after eleven months of regular use. The headphones weren't damaged, it just stopped working. The Soundmagic website says that they are covered under warranty for a period of one year, but they say to take it up with the retailer. Amazon will not allow me to return or exchange the item, and instead tells me to take any warranty claims to the manufacturer. You see my problem. For the price, I would expect them to last longer than a year. Bummer!**Aaargh, I love my headphones! BUT, I have a couple of serious complaints:Headphone wires are a huge pain when on the train commuting to work; always getting snagged on this or that. These wires are particularly tiresome because they have that sort of tacky feel to them, and are easily caught on your jacket or your backpack. I wish they were like ... the kind that are encased in a sort of threaded mesh, you know what I mean? That'd be awesome. Or even a slicker rubber would be an improvement. My BIGGEST problem is this: the little remote that controls the volume and play/pause (and can skip to the next track if you press play/pause twice in quick succession) is designed horribly! It's too close to your face to be able to see it, and yet it is impossible to tell what button your finger is on, or if it's on a button at all! It takes some trial and error every time you want to pause a song or adjust the volume. It would have been pretty easy to design buttons that were easily distinguishable by touch; can't imagine why they couldn't be bothered ... Also the build of the remote bit is a little cheapy. The GOOD: the sound is great. Great bass. Blocks out a whole lot of outside noise. Also, the wide variety of earbud caps is very welcome—there should be something for everyone. Audio quality at an affordable price was paramount for me, so all-in-all I am very happy, though I imagine I'll be looking to upgrade to a pair of wireless earbuds soon ...

Excellent

You won't be disappointed
These headphones pack quite a punch for an earbud type. The sound quality is excellent, a huge step up from any earbud that came with your phone. Many audiophile sites consistently rate these headphones near the top for under $100, and its clear why.One star removed since they did stop working in one ear after a year. The build quality seems quite good, but not outstanding and so the daily use I put them through appears do to have done them in after a year. However they come with a one year warranty so I was able to exchange them for a new pair from the folks at AudioEquip, who's customer service was excellent. All in all, very happy.

Luci e ombre
