4 stars until I've owned it long enough to really know how good it is, but so far, so good!
I just bought this to replace an Ultra 550W power supply, which was, I highly suspect, not providing enough 'juice' for everything I have connected to the motherboard- AMD 6-core CPU with a huge fan cooler, 5 drives, two monitors, dvd and bluray burners, soundcard, graphics card, etc. I was experiencing random screen freezes, and some of my drives kept disappearing off the list in Windows, due to the insufficient power being routed to everything.I'm hoping this will take care of all my power needs, and especially after I upgrade to a 1 GB DDR5 graphics card, which is next on the list. I'm also VERY happy to get rid of the unholy mess of clutter caused by all the cables coming out of the old PSU, since I only needed to plug in cables for the devices that need power. 2 PATA drives, 3 SATA III drives, two SATA burners. With the increased air flow, my fans seem to be running much more quietly now, although I plan to switch to silent liquid cooling in the near future since this is my main audio workstation for my studio.PLENTY of cabling for everything, so no worries about not being able to plug anything in. They even threw in a molex adapter for a floppy drive power connection, but I don't even have a floppy connector on my ASUS board, since they are pretty much archaic devices not used much anymore in the newer machines.I can't give it more than 4 stars at the moment until I've had it a while to gauge how well (or poorly, as the case may be) it does, but so far, it seems to be doing the job fairly well. An interesting note is that while my Ultra 550W PSU was hooked up to the Cyberpower Sine Wave battery backup, it was listing as approximately 13 minutes of backup time, and with this one plugged in, it's now listing as 16-17 minutes of backup time, which says to me this one makes more efficient use of the power routed through it. And this one is a 650W PSU, which is 100 more watts! I was expecting the runtime to be shorter, so it was a very pleasant surprise. This doesn't have a limited lifetime warranty on it like my Ultra did, but with a 10-year warranty, I have NO complaints on that score. It's right for the price. Keeping my fingers crossed that in a few months, I can come back and update my review positively, and add another star.

Love the 10 year Warranty
I am pretty happy with this purchase. It fit in my Mid Tower Case with just a tiny bit of modification. This power supply is long and the cables do not bend easily. Make sure you have clearance. Add 2-3 inches for the cables and measure before you buy. I had to move my optical drives down to the lower bays. With them in the top bays cable management was a mess. The fan is not as quiet as I had hoped but is quiet enough. I added some foam padding to my case in the mounting area to reduce vibration noise this made a noticeable difference. I saw some reviews about the handle being in the way but I had just enough clearance for it and it is a nice feature. The unit is providing steady power and overall I am quite pleased. I will update my review once my other new components arrive and I can put a heavy load on this unit.

Better than the SuperNOVA 1000w G+!
Bought this PSU back in 2013, and still using it today, even with a 3080 Ti; Which Nvidia states "Requires 750w", but it really doesn't, [unless you are have alot of stuff connected, and overclocking!]I bought a SuperNOVA 1000w G+ when I upgraded, because I thought I need more power for a 3080 Ti. It ran fine for months with my Evga GTX 650 SC without any problems, but when I got a 3080 Ti F.E. installed, it [Coil Whines] every time ANY game is loaded!!I later found out I'm not the only 1 with a Evga 1000w PSU who has this problem. As a longtime Evga costumer, this is really disappointing! Filed for a RMA, and a replacement is on the way...Another good feature/s that the 650G has, that the 1000G+ doesn't, is the (GPU) Cables are Red, and not black like all the other cables. And it has a handle bar.

The Royal Treatment
I recently built myself a new computer and had to go through the dizzying research and shopping for the various parts. Picking out the power supply is never particularly fun, as you're basically buying a box with wires coming out of it. *yawn* Perhaps that is why the EVGA stood out, with its interesting handle on the back, not to mention its gold-rating and fair price. Also, unlike other (formerly) good names in power supplies, I didn't see any reviews for this one where owners reported popping, sparking, smoking, or catching fire, so that definitely narrowed things down! Seriously, I came across several such reviews for those other brands. No excuse for it.The handle on the back is a mystery to some. As a feature for making it stand out from the slew of other power supply images you're confronted with while shopping, it's successful. But it has its practical purposes, too. I found, while installing it, that the shelf in my (mid-tower) ATX case was quite short, and this PSU is longer than my previous one, which - since it's pretty heavy - made it tip forward and in. Had it not been for the handle, it would have been very difficult to hold the PSU in place flush against the case while I installed it. Once installed, the handle doesn't have much other use. However, it looks cool, and I keep my digital camera's USB cable draped over it for when it's needed (I was always misplacing that thing before).I can't speak for the longevity of this unit yet, but it seems sturdy with a nice big fan, a decedent textured finish, and the modular feature is fantastic! I don't need most of the extra included cables at this time, so I have ended up with an almost entirely clutter-free case. Lovely! An extra star for presentation! The last power supply I bought years ago (a high-end one) came wrapped in plastic inside a basic box. The EVGA SuperNOVA came in a sleek compartmentalized box with color-matched padding, a fabric velcro bag, sleeved and velcro-tied cables. I half expected to find jewels in there, haha. It was a very nice touch to add that extra oomph to a type of product that's usually not so exciting to get. It gives the impression this company takes pride in what they're selling and wants the buyer to enjoy receiving it.Update September 19, 2015: Excellent PSU and still going strong. :)
