Quality beginner/intermediate rig at a great price.
Lot of bang for your buck. High quality, lightweight. Easy to rig. If you don’t know how to rig a windsurfer sail you will need to go online to find a video, this comes with no instructions. But it’s easy when you know what to do. Comes with a good sail bag with organizing slots for the mast and base.

Arrgh! How do you rig this thing??!!?
This is supposed to be a beginner product. But it's really confusing to rig it. The instructions are next to useless. And the few videos on the web don't relate to this particular rig at all. For example, there's nothing that shows how you're supposed to rig the outhaul. Even for the strap used to pull the sail up from the water, it's unclear how you're supposed to attach it. I found a place on the wishbone, but had to improvise on the foot of teh rig. Getting the mount for the mast into the slot on the board was really hard too--difficult to believe they were really made for each other. It's really disappointing.

I had to search out the rigging instructions on the BIC website and they were rather incomplete for my Nova model.

Seems to be a decent product - but needs instructions
Just received this and really haven't used it much. One thing prohibiting this from getting a higher rating is the complete lack of instructions of how to rig the sail. This is my first windsurfer so I am a complete novice. After scouring the Bic site I found a manual that was for all of their sails, which had 3 short paragraphs on how to rig this particular model which was most UNhelpful. After looking at a half a dozen different YouTube videos I was able to get it rigged up (I'm still unsure if it is correct - but it sailed). What is needed (IMO) is the proper/recommended way to thread the various ropes through the pulleys, how much tension should be applied, etc. Lastly, it appears this used to come with a mast extender, but no longer does. While I appreciate the desire to make setup as simple as possible - I think the extender is still needed because it was nearly impossible to get good tension on the sail.
