Poor support and spotty setup
I have been an iSmart Alarm user for 5 years, holding out that the products, software, and support would get slightly better. Unfortunately it has not. While initially these products were easy to setup, but this particular camera was not allowing me to set it up (connect to Wi-Fi) for unexplained reasons. I tried the procedures from support multiple times over more than 2 weeks. I gave up and was preparing to return until I tried to set up one last time and it finally connected. No rhyme and reason as to why it connected the final time and not others. The initial attractions of iSmart alarm were DIY set up, operations, and lower costs. But the costs of these cameras are not significantly lower than Nests or other DIY alarm/camera competitors. And their functionally is spotty and UI/UX of the app is poor and has not been updated substantively in 4-5 years.Recommend avoiding iSmart alarm cameras and kit until they update hardware and software which they have claimed is upcoming in 2020 or later.

Ismart Alarm works like a charm!
I have had this ismart alarm system for several years now. It is reliable and works great for me. I also bought several ismart plug ins to be able to turn off the camera to reset it. Because I am out of town I am able to reboot the camera and turn on/off lights with my phone. This camera actually recorded a bat in my house and with a friend’s help got rid of the bat. I did buy the siren box for another location to be able to alert better. There have been a few quirks that were easy fixes after trouble shooting. Just like any technical piece of equipment, common sense and brain cells are key to keeping everything working.

5 Things You Want to Know Before You Buy
1) Avoid buying used on Amazon Warehouse Deals. I bought 5 of these cameras on Amazon Warehouse Deals and each had the "Amazon Inspected" sticker. Only 2 worked out of the box. I struggled to get the other 3 on my network. I returned 2 thinking it was a network problem and contacted iSmartAlarm for my 3rd. I learned that if the camera was set up with a previous user, the camera would not work in a new network unless iSmartAlarm was contacted to do the reset. So I reset my 3rd with iSmartAlarm and it worked (Thanks iSmartAlarm!)2) Pan and Tilt features are really cool but you may not use them much - the movement itself is not professional quality but you buy this camera for the flexibility to look at your home in different ways while you are away. I use it much less than I thought. Their Spot camera is lower cost and while it doesn't move, maybe you don't really need movement.3) Night vision is terrible. It only has 2 infrared lights (one to the left and one to right) compared to competitors like Nest that have infrared lights that ring the camera lens. I have a nest cam and my wife loves those images more than iCamera Keep at night4) Connecting in via the iSmartalarm app sometimes lags - Feels like you are waiting forever for some cameras while others are pretty quick. Their app has been consistently improving over the past 9 months and is way better now than at launch5) Camera has a solid red light on when it is working. This may bother some people who want a more covert look. It works for me because I know the status of the camera. If it is blinking, something is wrongRecommendation to iSmartAlarm - Don't let resellers re-sell your used equipment if it has to be reset by iSmartAlarm. It will result in a lot of returns and frustration with your customers

It's okay but has some issues.
I saw a lot of review of this camera on YouTube so I thought I'd give it a try. It works well and the video is very clear. The night vision and sound is incredible. The only fault I have is that it records 10 second clips randomly even when the alarm is not set. I have no problem with the camera recording when the alarm or motion sensor is actually set off, but when I'm walking around my living room, it shouldn't be recording me. Another thing is, iSmartAlarm stores these videos to the "cloud" but it gives you no control over deleting these videos. If you don't care about random recordings of your conversations and walking around the house to be uploaded to a cloud with no control over what is stored, then it's a great camera, but if you want a good camera and also a sense of privacy, then I would look elsewhere.

No customer service support!
The camera works good. But their network has lots of errors and they you can even log I. Do to network errors. And you could be down for days before it’s fixed. Support line is less than supportive. They don’t answer their phone calls and their mail box is full. Customer service is awful. Very disappointed!

Less intuitive than it looks--prepare for intense frustration
First thing's first, don't do it. Don't buy this camera. Strange setup rules and requirements (and exclusive reliance on smartphones to get it working and to see through the thing) make this camera seem hateful. The camera has to be plugged into your phone for formate updates, but exclusively spins its wheels. If you call customer support, they'll reiterate the same stale, unhelpful directions.

Useful features but it's rather sluggish, unfortunately
It's ok. I haven't liked it as much as I wanted to since I find it's responsiveness to be rather sluggish.Pros:* You can see the live stream video from your cell phone on wifi or on cellular.* You can pan and tilt the camera remotely* You can activate the microphone to listen in* You can mount this to a wallCons:* Extremely laggy video and audio* Extremely laggy pan and tilt* Can only configure using the iphone or android app* Android app not as robust as the iphone app. Both apps feel rather rudimentary* Can not view video on anything other than the cell phone app* Needs to receive a very strong 2.4Ghz wi-fi signal to work
