Went on very well. Was painting aluminum and covering with black. Satisfied with the results. Adhesion was good after drying it was easy to paint over with good coverage. I did multiple coats because the wheels were not in very good condition.

I used this for my truck restoration project. After prep, this was painted on and came out very well. It’s smooth and good spray. It looks really nice too.

Used it on an outboard lower unit and it worked great!

This is a really good primer. If you’re painting bare metal, you need to use this. The etching primer binds to bare metal, giving the paint something to bind to. I use it on anything I paint. Works very well. As far as rattle cans go, rustoleum is my go to. I’ve tried other brands just to see them fail.

I used this self-etching primer as part of an aluminum wheel refinishing project, and overall it worked pretty good. One feature I really appreciated was the ability to spray at any angle, even upside down. If you’ve ever painted wheels, you know there are plenty of awkward spots where that comes in handy. I used two cans to cover all four wheels and followed the instructions exactly. Coverage was good, and the primer laid down evenly. The reason for the 4-star rating is that the primer can sand through fairly easily on edges and curved surfaces. On my first wheel, I lightly sanded the primer before paint, and while the flat areas were fine, the primer came right off on some of the curves and edges. That meant re-priming and redoing part of the wheel. After that lesson, I adjusted my technique on the remaining wheels and had much better results. Instead of applying pressure, I simply skimmed the surface with the sandpaper and let the paper do the work. If you’re using this on wheels, my advice is: * Follow the prep instructions carefully. * Apply light, even coats. * When sanding, use almost no pressure, especially around edges and contours. Overall, this primer provided excellent adhesion and coverage for my project, and I’d use it again. Just remember that a light touch during sanding can save you from doing the same wheel twice.

Product dries fast as stated. Applying 3 coats is the best results 1st very light coat 2nd little more of coat and 3rd the thickest cort without over spraying Used it for brake calipers and rusted centre part of rotor

Useful for Aluminium where paint adherence can be a challenge. Professionally packed and delivered in the suggested time frame.

This "paint" is amazing. I used it on a sheet of treadplate. Past experience had shown me that painting treadplate is difficult. This product made it very easy, it covers really well and gave me a very smooth "professional" finish. I then had no problems with applying an over coat, but I could have just left it alone as it looked so good.

Sold me defective product, never buy from Color Papers if you don't want to get into same trouble!
