This is quite a handy little bookshelf. It's a bit smaller than I was hoping for, but it fits on top of my bureau with just enough room next to it for a lamp. I was able to put several of my smaller sewing textbooks on the shelf, along with some boxes of thread on the shelf underneath. Note that it won't hold large textbooks. The shelf is simply not deep enough---any full-sized book is going to hang off the front edge. But I have a lot of half-sized and 3/4-sized books that fit quite well. (See attached photos.)What I didn't realize is that it arrives in pieces that must be assembled! It's not terribly difficult, and you don't need any tools. The pieces interlock, sort of like a three-dimensional puzzle, and you can use the flat of your palm to hammer them together. Very easy! However, the direction leaflet was very faded and hard to read, so I kept having to double-check to be sure I had the right pieces before locking them together. Once they're locked, it may be hard to pull them apart, so be cautious.Other than that, it's a wonderful shelf. It's a good size, yet small enough to fit on a desk, or sewing table, dresser, bureau, nightstand, kitchen counter, etc. It will hold several small or medium-sized books, and there's a shelf underneath for other items, like a stapler, notebooks, things of that nature. It's white, but I'm pretty sure it can be painted, since other reviewers have done so. I'm not entirely sure what material it's made out of. It almost feels like a very hard foam, with a laminate outer layer. In any case, it's sturdy and looks great!Five stars and definitely recommended! It would make a fine addition to any home office, bedroom, sewing room, or the like. The filigree work on the sides is pretty enough for any girl's room. I'm attaching two photos---one shows the empty shelf, and the other shows the shelf once I added a few items to it, so you can see how large it is.

This is better as a small bookshelf rather than a desk caddie like I'd intended. I was thinking this would work on my desk for storing and containing all of my office supplies (note paper, stapler, etc.) but it was way too big. I measured it before I bought it, but for some reason it's just bigger in person. It looks small and dainty in the pictures, but it's actually quite beefy. I like the composite material it's made from - strong yet lightweight. The scroll work and decorative detail is very cute. Would work perfect for a girl's, or even a woman's bedroom. I added it to the top of my bookcase and it gave it that little added decorative element it always needed. It fit quite a number of paperbacks very well with room to spare. It really freed up space on my bookcase. Would hold hardbacks nicely too, though a textbook would be too big.It was super easy to put together and quite fun. Kid's would enjoy assembly because there are no tools, screws, or nails involved. There are notches and the pieces fit together like one of those 3D puzzles. The notches all fit together tightly and are very snug and secure once in place. Instructions are easy to follow, though you don't need them. You can easily figure it out just by looking at the pieces. Even though there are no tools required, it's a very sturdy piece that looks much more expensive than it was.

I bought this shelf for cookbooks I keep next to our range and for a little charging area for my husband’s phone. I needed a small shelf to squeeze under the cabinets on a very small section of countertop. Mission accomplished!Pros: ~The price is right~Cute scroll cutout details~Fits under the kitchen cabinet and still holds books~Can be assembled without tools~Good for small spacesCons:~Won’t hold many books~Assembly directions pictorial; no written instructions and no image of what completed product should look like (except for here on Amazon).~I’m dubious about moving this around without the pegs coming out of their slots. The material (some type of wood pulp or paper product) is not very strong. Use great caution when assembling because I think it would be easy to get heavy-handed and break it before you have it together. I’m halfway tempted to go back and use some wood glue on the posts that fit into the slots; that would probably make it a lot more stable.~Finish on the shelf edges is a bit rough, but not a deal breaker.All in all, I think this little shelf accomplished what I needed it to, and for a price that makes it easy on the wallet.

I bought this to store some of my makeup. I'm doing a lot of cleaning/rearranging of my room, and a big issue for me is my dresser just being sprawling makeup. It is organized by type, but I just didn't have good storage to make it more contained. This shelf looked like a good start that would at the least organize my palettes and some of my makeup items I put in cup-type organizers. That said, and it wasn't a sizing inaccuracy in the description but me underestimating how much makeup I have, it really only fits my eye-makeup and nothing else. I do really like it and it really has helped my organization for eye-makeup, but now I want more organizers for the rest of my makeup. I was considering another organizer by this brand, but I think I may just get another of these as I know it'd work (the other has like a charging station which would be great for my bedside table, but otherwise just wastes space for my dresser).I did get instructions and they were easy to follow (pictorial instructions). A little fussy getting the last pieces to fit, but not horrible and didn't really need any tools (though did use a rubber mallet to lightly tap in some pieces). The size is great and I am considering getting at least one for my bedside tables and really use them for books and such.The pictures I added are just to show how I used it, not how I'm using it on my dresser (I am moving my dresser and packing everything up right now, but wanted to try it out). The boxes are from a couple subscription boxes and help the organization a bit more and also look cute.

Un poco difícil de armar pero no imposible y no necesitas herramientas

I needed more space to put my books and this was perfect! It's a perfect size to sit on a desk, and the little shelf underneath is incredibly useful for little bits and bobs. It felt flimsy at first but it holds my books well without any sag on the shelves. I found it easy to assemble, which doesn't always happen as I'm dyspraxic and I managed to put it together without a hammer because I forgot to find one so a bit of force worked (although I imagine it's easier with a little hammer!) I plan on painting this at some point in the future, but it looks lovely plain white as well!

This is not real wood so you better use the instructions or otherwise you might break it a little bit. Really pretty though and doesn't take much place.
