Super nice machine
So far I am in love with this machine. My intended use is not for gaming but for graphic design. The GeForce GTX660 packs enough power to render my 3D work in Photoshop CC fabulously. Having UFEI load the OS at startup makes for a quick start and reboot. The OS is installed on 128GB SDD which also helps with speed.I was a bit hesitant to use Windows 8 on my desktop. While its been great on my tablet, I wasn't so sure as my main OS. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was able to set the machine up and have it connected to my network. I am using Start8 from Stardock as my start button which offers virtually the same feel as Windows 7 with the added bonus of having Metro UI for my entertainment and social networking. What I like about this machine is the ability to expand the system with hot swappable hard drives and plenty of disk bays. Unlike my previous HP desktop which served me well but was limited for adding further upgrades, the X700 seems like it has plenty of potential for future upgrades.I had considered an Alienware machine but felt the price points where much higher. I think there is a good balance of features to overall cost. The only negative is that it only came with 12gb of memory with 1 slot remaining open to allow for a 4gb memory module. It really should have come with 16gb to take advantage of quad channel memory performance. Other than that I am really liking this Lenovo!

Bad to non existent customer support
Lenovo's support is really bad! I contacted them several times to ask about issues I have with updating the BIOS and no answer at all! When I asked the question on social media on Lenovo's page, all they replied with was that they felt really sorry. ugh!!

This machine had a few minor problems [machine would not turn on when pressing the start button and the mouse froze a few times] with either software or hardware issues when I first got it but between the updates and such seems to be running smoothly as to date.

Lights out Day 1... Called it quits after 2 weeks of use.
First of all, this review reflects my experience with this machine, which has been horrible. First off several of the lights didn't work upon purchase, which is very small but note worthy and I contacted the seller and they were willing to make it right. But before that could ever happen, after only 2 weeks of use, the computer just died on me in the middle of an all night codeathon. Now It tries to load up and will not stay on. This caused me to lose 4 days of code on a web development project. That said I am still giving this unit a 3 out of 5 on the slight chance that I just received a dud and in all honesty it did work like a champion in the days leading up to it's demise despite missing lights. Still, I don't know if I can take a chance with this machine again, but for now I will be returning the one that I have while I am still in the 30 day window.

Fast and easy to upgrade.
I purchased this system for light video processing, photos, the internet, and word processing. It replaced a 5 year old quad core system. The new system reduced video rendering time from over night to less than an hour in my tests. I did not like the pre-loaded bloat-ware and I am a little annoyed with Windows 8 (free upgrade to 8.1), but I can learn to work around those issues. With the easy access case it was a breeze to replace the DVD burner with a BD burner.
