Motorized tie rack is just ok
I bought two of these for my husband. Neither works if he puts ties on each of the rungs because the combined weight seems to be too heavy for the motor. If he puts ties on every other rung, then one works very well (i.e., it spins around quickly, doesn't slow down after a few seconds, and doesn't seem to be laboring under the weight) and the other works ok but is slow and feels like it is struggling to get around and that the little motor won't last. Was surprised that: 1) for the price, neither worked with nearly the 72 ties they can hold; and 2) there was a fairly big difference between how the two performed even with half the ties -- almost like they had different motors. Given that the weight seems to be the issue, my guess is they work just fine if the ties are lighter. Also, it's possible that all of the motorized tie racks have the same problem. But they should have designed the product to work with all frequently sold ties, regardless of the weight.

Very Weak Motor
This is my third Sharper Image tie rack--I use two. After 10 years, the drive belt on the original broke, and I had to buy a new one. Unfortunately, this new model is not as good as the original. The motor just does not appear strong enough to do the job. The old one was reasonably fast. When you turn this one on, the motor sounds like its struggling to move the belt and slowly crawls along. I am not optimistic about it longevity.

Not as good as the old one
I have two other of the earlier models of these tie racks. The one I bought 7 years ago is superior to this one. I'm not sure why the new one does this but when you hit the switch to start the rotation, it starts out fine but slowly begins to decrease in speed which continues decreasing until it finally stops and the light goes out. Then, hitting the stop button and re-starting it, it starts right up at full speed and does the exact same dance. Since I rarely have to go a full revolution to find my tie for the day, I'm keeping it. And yes, the batteries are fresh... I also have an older one that works just great (I have LOTS of ties...) So- I'm dissatisfied but don't want to go through the hassle of returning it. I'd maybe not buy this particular model because of these reasons.

Weak motor.
After I loaded all of my ties on it, the motor was not strong enough to move the rack. At first, I thought something was in the way, then realized the weight of the ties was too much. Very disappointed.

Reliable rack
Had one of these for 12 years then the belt broke. So I replaced it with another one. It works great.
