Powerful soldering station
I needed extra power to solder #10 wire onto Deans T-type connectors for my RC trucks. This has plenty of power for the task and worked like a champ. For de-soldering I advise to start with a drop of solder on the tip to transfer heat better. The old solder joint will release much faster. Otherwise you risk overheating the connector and melting it. This is a trick that worked for me. It's not really meant for de-soldering but it does it. What a great deal too. I shopped around. Make sure to order a 3.2mm chisel tip if you want to solder big wire onto battery connectors. It's part number 44-413071.

The price is perfect compared to the low ends soldering stations that made ...
I owned my first XYtronic desoldering station and a hot tweezers back in the 90's. As I recalled the model for the desoldering station was 999. I still have them and they operate well for their price points. I always want a high power soldering station that can handle both SM components and through hole components. This model can handle big terminals for drones, battery, helicopter, etc. perfectly. Besides, with the small tips, this model works well with surface mount components of the latest Ham radio and Marine Radio. Antique radios are no problem to be soldered by this model, too. The soldering wand is small, light weight. Fast heating is one of its advantage. With 120 W and the appropriate tips, you won't destroy the SMC and its circuit board. The price is perfect compared to the low ends soldering stations that made by Hakko, Weller, Edsyn, Metca, etc. Go ahead solder it.

10 seconds!
That's how long it takes this thing to heat up from stone cold. It also maintains its temperature really well. I have two tips for mine - a little tiny tip for PCB work, and a fat one for soldering big wires. It's a smart iron. It knows when you're not using it, and turns itself down to an idle temperature.. and then just turns itself off. This saves the (expensive) tips - nothing will fry a tip faster than being left on overnight. The fast response on maintaining temperature lets it solder surprisingly large items - basically, once you have the thermal mass of the tip nicely joined to the thermal mass of the item being soldered, they become one unit, and the soldering iron adjusts its heat output up to heat all of it. Best soldering iron I've ever owned.
