Great picture!
I bought this on Memorial Day half off special, so my review is biased by the $500 sale price tag. So, that being said...WOW. Awesome picture quality. It feels like a $900 tv to me and I was thrilled with my sale weekend deal. Having viewed less expensive LG Nanocell models in person at Best Buy, I knew it was a noticeably nicer series than the $400 - $450 range LGs in my budget. I liked LG a lot in general as a mid-tier option between really unimpressive TCLs and Sony (which always looks amazing to me). I think the picture is so crisp on this LG model I feel like I am getting something Sony quality. Really appreciate the 8 picture modes, too. Pretty intuitive remote and no complaints about sound without a soundbar (though that’s not my area of expertise). Also will note I did “to the door” Amazon delivery and was happy that delivery guy moved it inside a little for me. You should take the tv out with an extra person but I live alone and had an easy enough time doing it myself (not a super muscular, medium build woman).

Great TV minus the halo
For me it’s a 5 star TV. I’ve had this TV for close to a month now (bought for Prime Day) and I’m happy as I haven’t had one problem. I was a little worried reading some of these reviews but the box came in perfect condition and the TV has not given me one problem. The picture is beautiful to a person who hasd a 2013 LG TV before. The colors are vibrant, it’s really great for my husbands gaming and the sound is good for TV sound.I did however do quite a bit of research before purchase and there’s quite a lot of emphasis right now on OLEDS and how black their blacks are. This TV does have a halo around something white on a black screen. This is not something I would have noticed if i hadn’t researched it and I don’t think the average person will be put off by it but someone used to the luxury of OLED or just really high end TVs might.

Great picture and easy setup.
I purchased my LG 55SM8100aua from Vanns (through Amazon) a number of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I ended up purchasing this tv for $489.00 which was the best price I could find anywhere including online and brick and mortar. The tv arrived as scheduled and packaging was excellent. I replaced an 8 year old LG tv so I was concerned about the potential difficulty of setting this up and I couldn't have been more wrong as set-up was very easy. The picture and quality of this tv is excellent and I really like how small the bezel/framing is around the picture because when the tv is on all you see is screen and not framing. Also, the sound quality is a big improvement from my older tv. Just a quick statement regarding set-up, I connected the HDMI to my cable box, turned on the tv and followed the easy instructions and I was watching my new tv in a matter of a few minutes.

Great picture, fairly easy set up
Tv is great. Love the quality fairly easy to set up. I am technologically challenged so I am still trying to figure it all out. Don’t like that I have to use my direct tv remote to fast forward and rewind and wish the magic remote lit up as you can’t see the buttons in the dark. Other wise I like that I can mirror my phone ( took a while to get it to work but finally did after watching some YouTube videos). I love that there are free Chanel’s and all the “smart” features. This is my first smart tv so I don’t have much to compare it with. But picture quality is awesome and I am happy with the product.

Mom loves it, I hate that it forces you sign away your privacy to use the internet.
Talked mom into this model and it's been great. Much better than her old one.I did have to tweak the picture and sound to make sure she could see it and hear it....wish they would get their standard settings better....but now she's very happy with it.The remote was too confusing for her to work, so its in the drawer and she uses the cable remote. The Biggest problem is that it's an invasion of privacy. To use the internet it requires you to give up your personal privacy. This should be illegal....to force people to allow access to a camera, microphone, and to collect data in order to use a part of a product that you paid for, ridiculous!I didn't knock down the rating for this because I'm guessing the other TV's do the same.

Nice Picture but the remote, eh
The picture was great. I grabed this when I saw the price drop. It was between this and a Samsung a $100 more. I looked on Consumer Reports and this TV scored higher slightly so that sealed the deal for me. The remote is my only gripe and even it isn't bad, just slick (slipped out of my hands twice) and not well organized in functions. Lastly the mouse arrow on the TV for navigating the menus using the remote, All I can say is its an exercise in patience. It functions like a WII remote but not as good.

Favorite tv
I was looking for a tv. I went to Sam's Club first. Saw a few options but I wanted to see if amazon had it available also. They did. For $49 less. So I saved it. I few weeks later I received an email from amazon showing the tv was on sale for a $200 difference. I instantly purchased it. Love this Tv. The auto adjusting is wonderful. Picture is better than the latest phone. Super smart tv. Im glad I purchased it.

Super Picture, Some initial issues with Smart Apps, Magic Remote leaves me wanting
The picture is great. The sound (for a flat screen tv) is pretty good, but doesn't have the depth of a 5.1 sound system. Some issue with YouTube TV existed at first - latest software updates seems to have corrected problem. The Magic Remote works (sort of) but does come near what a Harmony Remote can do. The Magic Remote lacks controls for my Samsung BluRay DVD player. The ARC HDMI functions performs well with my soundbar 5.1 system.

Great tv once you tamper with the settings!!
Amazing tv! Love the picture quality. I keep it on vivid mode, turn sharpness to max and backlight and contrast to max and color to 70, and the picture is stunning!

Not worth the money, but a good TV for sure
Love the coulurs. But the screen dimming isn't good. I'm only comparing this to oleds.
