Emerson EM50LD Large Display Caller ID

Nices one I have seen. two drawbacks, the voice announces during the ring and hard to understand. Two the screen can only be seen when looked at directly with good light.

The package arrived okay and on time. The problem was when I opened it, the base of the clock was missing. I called right away and the person at first sounded like he did not believe me. He then had to go speak to his supervisor. He was told that they would ship the base out to me in 8-10 working days. I was shocked because they are the ones that made the mistake and should ship it right away. The clock was useless without the base to hold it on. I recieved the base about a week and half later, and not even an apology to go with it. I don't recommend ordering from these people.

I ordered this one, thinking it would be different from the other large display caller-id boxes. It's not. I was willing to pay a little extra for the cooler tone LCD. It is the same Emerson large box caller-id as other listings. My own fault for not checking model numbers. It works as described and has voice to announce the number, which I promptly turned off as this is for a bedroom phone. I feel a little duped by the company who submitted the item for sale, CloseoutZone.com.

I have an elderly Grand-dad and he has trouble seeing the caller id he used to have, well not any more. This item arrived in record time and has performed wonderfully. I was going to hook it up for him but he had it all set up by the time I had arrived, that is how easy it was to set up. He loves the big display and the fact that it holds so many numbers in the memory. I highly recommend this product to everyone.

Total piece of garbage. And it doesn't even match the display. What it DOES match is the $18 one also sold on Amazon. I bought the other model first and it was junk. The display was only readable an an extreme oblique angle. Other reviews had mentioned that problem, but I thought maybe they just got a bad unit -- well, now I have received two of these "bad units" -- that tells me there is a production problem. I thought maybe if I "upgraded" to the more expensive model that maybe it would be better. Wrong! I received the exact same model (that doesn't match the photo) and it has the exact same problem -- the display doesn't work. Even when viewed at that extreme angle the display is still weak. The "contrast" only has 5 setting-steps. They go from totally blank to weak display only viewable when viewed at a 30-degree angle.The photos show how the display looks when viewing from a normal viewing angle and from about a 30-degree angle. It's also a very narrow angle -- too far up and you lose the image. Too far down and it's gone too. Interestingly, the camera actually makes the display look better than in real life.You'll notice that the photos do not match the product picture of the unit.

The display is too light. The older model was better suited as it was so much easier to read.

First off it is very tough to see, I have to ben down or rotate it to see the number. The clarity sucks.

There was no phone cord included as described. Display is somewhat hard to read. Would be a lot better if the background display lite up there were batteries installed that we're dead. It must of been a returned product
