Hard Sayings of the Bible (The Hard Sayings Series)

A very good book and supposed to be referencing book handy for ease reference when necessary. That's one of the advantages ebooks are supposed to have over the print version. I have read customer reviews complaining about this. Publisher, please create referencing in the kindle version and update. I hope this plea is considered for us to get the update soon. I give three stars for now awaiting the update then five stars.

To answer those daunting questions of why the text of our Holy Bibles presents some perplexing information, this book does an excellent job at describing the meaning of the otherwise troubling text. And one does not have to be a seminary student to understand this excellent book. I Hard Sayings of the Bible

It has no workable index for Kindle but the content is superb.

The kindle edition does not have an active table of contents. Please fix this. It is not usable like this. I would return it if I could.

I enjoy reading this book. It a book that when you read it you feel the thought and research that went into preparing it.

Not yet ready to give it five stars but have already found it an excellent resource for considering some Hard Sayings in the Bible.

I have the hard cover version. It is very useful and succinct, even though I may not agree with every entry. The Kindle version is a huge disappointment. The contents pages are run-on. There are no hyperlinks in either the table of contents or within the text itself to take you quickly to a page or verse. The only way to navigate is to scroll page by page or by using the slider bar on the bottom. Come on, Intervarsity Press, let's fix this!! I haven't yet decided if I should return this, or hope that IVP will issue a corrected version.

I have other Hard Sayings of the Bible and was interested in this one while I am studying Daniel.Scripture index for Daniel Ch 1 to Ch 2:10 has Page # 353.Pages in book are 352, no 353, 354.Information on what is included is worth having for resource.Dianne

Very handy companion to reading and understanding the bible. Has made clear passages that I had trouble understanding. Would recommend it for new and mature Christians or anyone reading the Holy Bible.

Sometimes it's difficult for those of us in the 21st century to understand the people, places and cultures we read about in the Bible. This book addresses some of the most bewildering verses. It does so in the order of the books of the Bible which makes it easy to look up specific passages. It helps with individual and group Bible study. It's also good for those who are witnessing to people who have objections about some of the contents of the Bible such as the issue of slavery, for example. I highly recommend it.

The content of this book is fairly good. Our small group was going through some of this book. Unfortunately, it is not set up well for electronic version ... extremely hard to find the chapters of interest. I ended up buying the book at higher cost through my bible software package, which was more expensive but much easier to navigate and also links directly with biblical texts. So price is good here but wasn't set up well for Kindle.
